For me, I'm afraid of what will happen if I don't reach my goal of making the B team in roller derby. Instead of giving up, I decided, with the support of the community around me, to go full steam ahead and give it everything I've got. What have I got to lose, really?

It's time to grow, to get uncomfortable.... To be the best selves we can possibly be and to work towards crushing those goals.

I'm here to help and support you! The Intro to Fitness course I'm hosting at Kaleo Fitness is a great place to start. The heaviest weight you will lift is the gym door. 💪

Happy December and happy Friday! I'm excited to officially announce the Intro to Fitness course at Kaleo Fitness starting on January 12th.

Over the course of 6 weeks, you will learn all about the basics of strength training, including a proper warm up and cool down. You will learn about using different types of weights, training your core (it's not just about sit ups!), and what the heck balance training is.

Each week we will review an aspect of training and then put it into practice with a sweat session. On the last day of the course we will put it all together with a full body workout.

I'm happy to answer any questions that you may have. Let's get moving!

Let me tell you a story… In high school and college I was never the skinny kid, but I managed my weight ok. However, in my early and mid 20’s, I made some bad decisions and ended up overweight and miserable.

Eventually I had enough of my own BS and joined a gym. Though it wasn’t until a personal trainer approached me with an encouraging smile that I realized that maybe I could do this and turn my life around. She believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself.

My fitness journey has been filled with ups and downs throughout the years, but I stuck with it and am so grateful I have …. I have run several half marathons and 10ks, got back into horseback riding, and joined a roller derby team which has become my passion.

Let me reintroduce myself... It's been awhile and I wanted to take the time to share a little bit about the person behind Tornado Alli Fitness.

I've been a Certified Personal Trainer for over two years now, but I've been involved in fitness for over 15 years. When I started going to the gym in my mid twenties, I hired a personal trainer and I was hooked. From spending time trying new things and asking questions in the gym, to running half marathons, to playing roller derby, I found that fitness was my passion. I also love helping others and personal training is the best of both worlds.

I firmly believe that core and balance should be the basis of any workout program and you can then build from there. And we can't forget our friends mobility and flexibility. I also believe that strength training and endurance are key to strong muscles, bones, and a healthy heart. I love helping clients feel strong and capable of anything.

Besides a personal trainer who am I? I am a wife, stepmom, dog mom, athlete, derby skater, and friend. I believe in making time for laughter, hugs, and Bulgarian Split Squats.
