S E N I O R S P O T L I G H T: Jocelyn Solorio

Position: Utility

Started playing: 4 years old

Favorite softball memory: “Laughing with my teammates, getting food, and just spending time with everyone. Another favorite memory was when we were practicing a home run celebration and I got thrown in the air.”

Advice for underclassmen: “Enjoy every moment of it and don’t take it for granted because it goes by faster than you think. Always work hard, not just for yourself but for your teammates also. Always stay positive even if things don’t go your way. Don’t forget that the friendships you build with your teammates are just as important as the game. The results of the game are temporary but the friendships and time you spend together stay with you forever.”

Plans after high school: “I plan to go to Sierra college for 2 years then transferring to a 4 year to study education.”

Words to younger self: “Believe in yourself more and have confidence on and off the field. Don’t let people bring your confidence down and make you doubt yourself. Focus on what makes you happy and enjoy every single moment!”
