One of our Blue’s families is in need of all the support we can provide. They are faced with the unthinkable; facing cancer for the second time in 10 years. Please consider donating if you can, no family should have to worry about finances at a time like this.

Today’s Teammate Tuesday is dedicated to Thiago as he undergoes cancer treatment for the second time. Please share this post and story and your well wishes to Thiago and his family. The GoFund Me link will be in our bio and shared in stories.

On Friday, July 27th, 2018 the family received the worst news anyone could ever receive…Thiago who was 5 years old at the time was diagnosed with wilms tumor(the most common type of childhood kidney cancer) He went through a full nephrectomy (removal of one of his kidneys) followed by 25 long weeks of chemotherapy and an additional 4 weeks of radiation. On March 8th, 2019 he got to ring the bell. He was in FULL remission and cancer was officially dead.
Five years later, the doctors say Thiago has relapsed. Scans on September 9th showed tumors on his only kidney that were not there on his last scans. Facing cancer once was life altering, to face it a second time almost seems unbearable. Devastating isn’t even a strong enough word to explain how we felt finding out Thiago was facing cancer once again at just 10 years old.

We have set up this go fund me to help with the cost of transportation, meals, parking, medical bills and loss of wages that may arise for both of his parents to have the time to be with and support him through all of this. These are just a fraction of some of the costs of ongoing treatment. We are asking for any financial donation you can make to help support our family through another challenging medical hurdle. So please help by donating and sharing this Go Fund Me to support Thiago and our family through all of this. However, with all this being said, we first and foremost are asking for prayers. Our family has been on a journey of fighting and striving to see our Thiago healed so he can get back in the field to play soccer once again. We know that above all, God has Thiago and our family in His hands and that He is the ultimate healer. We have high hopes that he will be in remission one more time. What a great night! Even if our boys didn’t bring home the W, our girls still had such a great night cheering them on!

One of our amazing families is hosting a garage sale this Saturday August 26th to raise funds for a family who lost everything in the tragic Maui fire. Donations are also very welcome and appreciated.

San Diego Surf Cup 2023! Such an great tournament and experience for team. The girls played hard on the field and bonded off the field. In the end we didn’t get the W’s we were looking for but we walked away with the experience we need to grow as a team and as individuals.
