Another busy day for the cellar yesterday starting with a great time at Isanti grappling club invitational!

That’s a wrap Maximus_Promotions

Congrats to all of our athletes who showed up, made weight + displayed their skills inside the cage

Eliot beat a tough opponent with solid ring control, devastating clinch knees + a knockdown in Rd 1 AND Rd 2. Both knockdowns were caused by his jab 🤯 Amazing work!

Liam fought an elusive opponent who navigated the ring well and applied pressure at the right times. It was an extremely technical matchup and only Liam’s 3rd fight (on short notice too). We know what to work on and we’re proud of him!

Ben had a solid first round getting his rhythm + landing solid right hands and low kick counters. He got hit with a toe kick - a roundkick aimed with the ball of the foot/ the toes and although Ben stood up at the count of 10 the ref waived it off. On 6 days notice and fighting for the first time in 5 years we are honored to watch our Coach perform. We know what to work on

We’ll never make excuses as fighters. We know the risk and the challenges that might present themselves. Ben took this fight with almost zero striking training in the last few months. We know what would happen with a full camp 💯

Thank you Richard Maximus Abraham for allowing Muay Thai + K1 to grow in the USA and giving these athletes a platform to perform 🙌

There’s nothing else like this in the Twin Cities right now.

The TCG Fall Open is currently the only grappling-in-a-cage event in the Twin Cities, giving local competitors the opportunity to compete in an environment they don’t typically get at area tournaments or superfights.

There’s no out-of-bounds reset when you reach the edge. Positioning, pressure, movement and awareness all become part of the strategy. It’s a chance to test your grappling in a different setting and gain experience that translates well to ADCC-style competition and MMA.

For spectators, it’s also a completely different way to watch grappling.

And this year, every athlete registered for the TCG Fall Open tournament gets FREE admission to the Night Show.

OCTOBER 10‼️

The TCG Fall Open is making its debut at The Cellar Gym.
This is a new bjj tournament geared toward youth and novice adults as well as matched super fights for advanced adults.

• Gi and no-gi for youth
• No-gi only for white and blue belt adults
• ADCC-styled matched super fights in the cage for purple belt and above

We’re really excited about this event and about being able to give more opportunities to competitors in the Twin Cities and the Midwest. We hope this is the first of many events for us to host like this going forward.

Tell your coach. Tell your teammates. Tell your friends to come watch and look out for registration opening soon.

Great work by our BJJ team at Grappling Industries last weekend! We ended the day with 3 bronze medals and 1 silver. Most of our adults were competing for the first time, and it was a solid learning experience for our athletes.

Our only youth competitor stepped up into the grey belt bracket. He won several matches and also faced some tough challenges.

Big thanks to our coaches and to Isanti Grappling Club for helping us out!

Sam wins via arm triangle in round 2!! Sam came out very calculated landing a number of kicks early. Got take down but worked his way back up to his feet in round one. Second round started by landing kicks at will disrupting his opponent. Ended up on the ground with Sam finishing with the sub. Congrats Sam!!
