David missed the first session due to havest. He's here now. 12th out of 13 cars in the second session.

Lined up for Hot Laps at Shasta Speedway!

Surprise, David is racing Shasta Speedway this weekend!!

Practice tonight, Racing tomorrow night.

Gates open at 5, National Anthem at 6.

David's 1st Super Late Model race FINALLY happened!
However, not without a little drama. David ran about 75 laps in Friday practice, getting better with each run. Saturday started with the team making major adjustments to the car.
Practice was going well, until it wasn't! David broke (exploded) a left rear axle. The team was able to quickly diagnose the issue. However repairs were put on hold because the heavens opened up and it absolutely poured for 1.5 hours. Once the rain stopped and the track was dried, the show continued on. However, the remainder of practice, qualifying and heat races were canceled. The main event was set based on Friday/Saturday practice times. With repairs made to the car, David rolled off 8th for the main event, not knowing if the repairs would last 1 lap or the full 100! He ran an amazing race, putting himself in contention for the "lucky dog" and running as high as 4th until the rear end broke on the lap 84 restart.
All in all his 1st start while memorable, was a success, considering the car is still (relatively) in one piece.

Friday practice is a wrap. Finished with two cars (Dane and David) in one piece! 👋They learned a lot today. David ran 75 laps, the most of any SLM today.
Dane said it's the most technical track he's ever raced.
We are looking forward to tomorrow!

David has made plans twice to make his late model debut. Here's hoping his third attempt slated for ALL AMERICAN SPEEDWAY - ROSEVILLE CA this Saturday night finally comes to fruition!!

Gates open at 4 pm, qualifying at 4:30 followed by heat races. Opening ceremonies at 6pm. This is as close to home as he'll ever race!
