Establishing a good grip, and maintaining consistency. Ultimately, consistency is what we strive for. Drawing reference points is an easy way to show a visualization of any inconsistencies in establishing that grip, and reinforces a solid grip on presentation.

LE Only Red Dot Handgun Instructor

This course was originally two days and 16-hours. From the feedback we've had we changed it to a three day, 24-hour course. The updated curriculum includes low-light and a lot more repetitions.
This course is all about getting instructors ready to run a red dot program at their agency. We cover all the technical aspects of the optics themselves along with all the issues we've seen implementing the program in a department. Hit us up if you have any questions.

New courses for the first half of the year are live at 6abovellc.com. Currently in talks with an agency in northern NM to host an LE Only Red Dot Handgun Instructor in April.
New course for 2024 is Performance Pistol. This isn't our typical class. This is a jump right into it workshop. This course is all about increasing your speed and accuracy over the course of the day with a focus on one-on-one instruction.

Super easy drill to set up.
Round count:
1 rifle mag with 6
1 rifle mag with 1
2 pistol mags of 2
The drill:
Start at fifty yard line, on timer run to the 35 yard line break of 3 rounds rifle rounds, run to 25 yard line break off 3 more rounds. Once you get bolt lock transition to pistol. After transition fire three rounds from your pistol inducing slide lock, manage a reload with your pistol and run to the 15 where you fire 3 more rounds with your pistol. Pistol should be empty, and you transition back to primary weapon system (rifle), reload your rifle with the one round mag and follow up with a single shot.
The purpose:
“Simulating” stress by increasing heart rate by running and adding timer.
Forcing transition, and emergency reloads.
This drill incorporates multiple weapon manipulations.
Ultimately, ideal world we want our primary system (rifle) to be up and running. S**t happens and that system might go down (goes dry, malfunction, faulty mags, etc.), transitioning to an alternative weapon system or secondary (pistol) is a more efficient way to get back in your gunfight, until you can identify what is wrong with your primary and get it running again.
