East Roswell Park Recreation Singles League 2026
Final payout table and ace fund throwoff chances

Prize distribution and ace fund throwoff will be at East Roswell Park beginning at about 5 pm. Both will continue until we're done, usually a couple of hours (before dark). You don't have to be there at the start -- just show up when you can. If you know you can't make it and want to have someone else pick up for you, send us a message with your name and the name of the person picking up -- you can send an FB Messenger message or text to 678-390-0035.

Thanks to all 192 people who came out and played at least once this year. We again averaged right about 50 players per week. We had one week canceled, and one week when we had to suspend play after starting, both because of bad weather. Week 2 we had very light turnout because of rain/cold. But we were able to award points for 31 of the 32 scheduled weeks.

We finished strong, with 55 players for the final week (above our weekly average). We had 1489 rounds played total, which means our projected payout of $1490 was spot on.

Next week, Monday October 19, will be our season-end wrap up. No formal round, no points awarded. We will pay out the top 55 places as shown on the payout table (final version will be posted soon), and we will have our traditional throw-off for any remaining ace pot funds. Format is pretty simple -- each player will get a number of throws in the throw-off based on how many times they played this year. Players get one throw for every five rounds played.
1-5 rounds played = 1 throw
6-10 rounds played = 2 throws
11-15 rounds played = 3 throws
16-20 rounds played = 4 throws
21-25 rounds played = 5 throws
26-31 rounds played = 6 throws

Thanks also to everyone who helped us run the league this year -- your usual staff had to be absent a lot this year, and several of you stepped up to fill in. Dove Walker managed the sign in process nearly every week. Brett Porter handled card assignments swiftly and accurately and did a great job managing all of the CTPs and the ace fund. Gary Sindall, Walter Black, and Matt McLeod managed the sign-in process when the regular crew couldn't be there. Walter, Gary, and Marty Pardue helped ensure that each group had any CTP flags they were responsible for. And everyone once again deserves a pat on the back for making this the most popular weekly league in North Georgia yet again. That's a testament to the welcoming, enthusiastic, encouraging and pleasant way you've all conducted yourselves -- people seem to have a great experience and want to keep coming back. You've been the key factor in making this league a success for over a decade now.

REGULAR SEASON FINALE
Monday, October 12 is week 32 for the East Roswell Park Recreational Singles League for 2026 -- the last week for points for this season. Short tees -- days are too short for long tees, or for late sign-ins.

Sign-in will begin approximately 4:45 at the picnic tables behind kiosk near the course.

TARGET CUTOFF TIME FOR SIGN-IN IS 5:15 FOR OCTOBER *FIRM*
If we have players signing in late, we *will not* finish before dark. Please don't make us be mean to you.

We play rain or shine unless there's lightning nearby or dangerously high winds. If it's storming at start time we will delay until the storm is over, or until there wouldn't be enough daylight left to finish. If it's raining during sign-in, it will move to the pavilion by the pond, adjacent to the parking area.

No need to do any registration or sign-up in advance -- just show up and play. Check in on UDisc using the "Events" tab. If you don't already have a UDisc account, please create one ahead of time. It can be a free account, but UDisc has made it impossible for us to create an account on your behalf -- you have to do it yourself.

This is a handicap-format recreational-level singles league. Handicaps are based on player performance in league rounds relative to course averages. Points are awarded each week based on handicap-adjusted order of finish and the total number of players that week. First place gets a point for each player present, second gets 1 point less than that, down to last place which gets 1 point. Points accumulate throughout the season and at the end of the year, the top (approximately) 40% get a cash payout from the prize fund collected during the season -- the mathematically adept will have concluded that the total prize fund will be equal to $1 for each round played by each player.

Next week, Monday, October 19, we will pay out prizes -- top 55 places will get paid this year. We are paying out $1490 this year, based on our projected total number of player rounds this year of $1484. Payout amounts will range from about $105 for first place down to $15 for the last dozen spots. We will also hold a throw-off for any remaining ace fund money. Sunday Service - Season 50 On The Road Week 3 at East Roswell Park DGC is a disc golf league event held in Roswell, Georgia on September 20, 2026 at East Roswell Park course.

Thanks to Gary Sindall for the videos showing the location of two yellowjacket nests (Holes 3 and 18). Hole 3 was at the end of an old log just in front of and to the left of the short tee pad. Hole 18 was at the base of a low sweetgum sapling in front of and to the left of the short tee pad. Both have been sprayed with a full can each of yellowjacket killer. However, it's possible some might have escaped, so be aware in those areas -- good idea to be aware everywhere on the course and take a second to look closely at any area you're about to reach into, especially in the couple of hours just after dawn and just before dark.
