Most fitness sales conversations fall apart before they even begin.

Not because of pricing… but because they sound scripted.

In this Alloy Business Podcast episode, Rick Mayo and team break down why real conversations outperform memorized scripts—and how better questions, stronger rapport, and genuine connection lead to more memberships and long-term clients.

If you’re still relying on a “pitch,” you’re leaving conversions on the table.

You can have great workouts… and still lose members.

Why?

Because people don’t remember just what they did.
They remember how it felt.

If that feeling changes every time they come in, they won’t stick around.

That’s why we’ve always focused on building systems our coaches can follow—so the experience is consistent no matter who’s leading the session.

That’s what creates trust. And that’s what drives long-term retention.

Dave is joining us and opening Alloy in Seal Beach, California.

What stands out right away is his mindset—focused, community-driven, and ready to build something that lasts.

That’s what makes this model work. Not just the system, but the people behind it.

Excited to have him on the team and support the launch. Onward and upward!

Kyle and Annie Smith are joining the Alloy family and opening in Maple Grove, Minnesota.

This is exactly what we look for—owners who care about building something meaningful in their community and are ready to execute.

Alloy works because of people like this. The model matters, but the operator matters more.

Excited to support them as they get up and running.

This is a big year for Alloy.

We’ve spent a long time building a model that works—for coaches, for clients, and for franchisees. Now the focus is scaling it the right way.

That’s where the CapitalSpring partnership comes in.

It gives us the resources to grow, but more importantly, it helps us stay disciplined in how we grow—supporting our franchisees, protecting the model, and continuing to do what’s best for the people inside our gyms.

We talked through all of it on the latest episode of the —what this partnership really means and where we’re headed next.

If you’re curious about Alloy or thinking about ownership, this will give you a clear picture.

I’ve seen a lot of people jump into franchising without really understanding what they’re buying.

The discovery process is where you find out if a brand actually works—or just sounds good.

We put together a guide on what to look for, what questions to ask, and where people usually get tripped up.

If you're considering ownership, take a few minutes and read it 👉 https://alloyfranchise.com/blog/a-smart-buyers-guide-to-the-franchise-discovery-process/

A lot of people are drawn to fitness franchising because of the growth stories.

But what you don’t always hear about is what it actually takes to make it work.

It’s not passive. It’s not hands-off. And it’s definitely not just about opening the doors.

It comes down to your ability to lead people, build the right team, and execute consistently—day in and day out.

In this episode, I break down some of the realities behind scaling a fitness franchise—what matters, what doesn’t, and where most people get it wrong.

If you’re exploring ownership or already in it, this is a conversation worth having.

✨ I almost missed it… ✨

September quietly marked over three decades in business — more than 34 years of building, learning, growing, and doing what I love.

Funny enough, I called it 34 years last time (entrepreneur math 🤷‍♂️), but hey — who’s counting when you’re this grateful?

Entrepreneurship is tough. It tests you daily. But it’s also one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. I’m thankful for the mentors, my incredible team, our franchisees, and our clients who’ve all been part of this journey.

Here’s to growth, grit, and gratitude — and to whatever comes next. 🙏
