We all know sleep is important, getting enough of it and have it be good quality restful sleep. Our circadian rhythm suggest we wake up with the sun and go to sleep with the sunset. However, with all the advances of modern times this rhythm can get out of sync and cause issues in other areas than just sleep schedule. Disruption to your circadian rhythm can cause short and long term effects to your health, metabolism, hormone release, cortisol levels, and body temperature.
As long as I can remember I have been a “night owl,” a heavy sleeper (I have slept through tornado sirens), and struggle to wake up in the morning. In the past I have set 3-4 alarms at various times to wake up. I have even used Alexa as an alarm thinking that if I have to talk to the device to get it to stop that would wake me up. Nope, that doesn’t even work! Recently, I started using a sunrise alarm clock and I am amazed! I actually wake up before the alarm clock even goes off! Other alarm clocks can sound for at least 30 minutes or more before I realize they’re even making noise.
Also, the light stimulates a sunrise slowly getting brighter and is a lot more gently way to wake up and is in line with a normal pattern of waking.

5 R’s to determine if an item is really food or made in a science lab. If it’s made in a science lab, processed, and you don’t even know the ingredients you probably shouldn’t put it in your body.
We are what we eat and food is medicine. Be more mindful when it comes to what you’re eating.

Pilates is a science, an art!
Through repetition of consistently practicing you will not only get stronger, more mobile, etc, you’ll make breakthroughs of aha moments and connections in the body of how to properly move. How we were intended to move before bad posture, injuries, or muscular imbalances were created.
Yes, after 10 sessions you will start to feel the difference in your body, and after 20 sessions start to see a difference, but it take years and lots of practice and repetition to master how to move in way where it just becomes instinct. As a result your mind and body will equally be powerfully strong to live your best life!

After the holidays does your body feel like it needs a detox?
Well before you spend a bunch of money on supplements, juices, tea, etc. which may or may not have scientific backing your body actually has its own detoxification system.
