The work our athletes put in, especially while school sports are in session, doesn't always come with recognition, but when it does, it's worth celebrating!

Congratulations to Team Ochoa's Emma Rangel on being named an Elgin Middle School Female Student Athlete of the Month for September!

Awards like this recognize more than athletic ability. They celebrate the commitment, character, and effort it takes to represent your school and your team. Keep setting the example, Emma! Your Starfire family is cheering you on!

Being a student-athlete is about more than what happens on the field. It's about challenging yourself, pursuing your passions, and putting in the work to grow in everything you do.

We're incredibly proud to celebrate Team Grondin's Adria Fernandez, whose artwork, "Did You See That Too?", was selected for the 2026 txEDCON TASA/TASB Exhibition in Houston, showcasing student artists from across Texas!

Keep chasing what inspires you, Adria! We're proud of you on and off the field!

With a 15-5 NCS record, a .750 winning percentage, and three podium finishes this season, Team Ochoa has earned their next challenge.

We're so proud of the work they've put in and the growth they've shown. Moving up means tougher competition and more opportunities to keep getting better.

Congratulations team!

Team Grondin faced some of the toughest competition in Central Texas this weekend at the USSSA St. Jude Swing for the Kids tournament. With illnesses and injuries leaving just nine athletes available, this team had every reason to face an uphill battle. Instead, they showed up ready to compete.

After a tough loss on Saturday, they came back Sunday with five straight wins to earn their spot in the championship game.

Eight games. No substitutes. Every athlete contributing and pushing through when it mattered most. They didn't walk away with the championship, but we're proud of the fight, the grit, and the way this team continues to grow.

A little rain wasn't going to keep Team Ochoa off the field! When their original tournament was rained out, they found another opportunity to compete on Sunday and made the most of it!

🥎 4-1 record
🥎 26 runs scored
🥎 Two come-from-behind wins
🥎 An inside-the-park home run + game-winning walk-off hit

Five games, plenty of fight, and a 3rd place finish in a tournament they weren't even planning to play Sometimes plans change, but the goal stays the same. Keep competing, keep growing, and get back to work.

A little late, but this one deserves its recap from a couple of weeks ago. Team Ochoa battled through a 24-team field and came away with a 3rd place finish. The weekend had a little bit of everything - a shutout, big offensive innings, multiple tight one-run battles, and plenty of opportunities to compete under pressure.

They didn’t get the ending they wanted, but weekends like this keep showing this group what they’re capable of — and where there’s still room to grow.

We're so proud of this group of athletes!

Happy National Coaches Day to our Starfire coaches!

Coaching is bigger than lineups, practices, and game days. It’s building confidence, expecting accountability, pushing athletes through hard moments, and reminding them what it means to put WE over ME.

We’re grateful for each of you who continue to pour into our girls, challenge them to grow, and help shape the competitors and teammates they’re becoming.
