“After the pandemic hit, I lost access to my free gym at my then place of work, and trying to exercise at home was boring. Enter Burn Boot Camp. It was the year I was turning 40, and I really did not know what to think. Sure, my driver’s license said 40, but I still felt like I was 16. Could I really be active like I was at 16? Could I really challenge myself with this bootcamp? So, I bit the bullet, joined in 2022, and never looked back. Burn has not only improved my physical outlook but also improved my mental health. I went from “you must be crazy to think I’m doing a pull up” to enjoying doing them (with the bands, of course!). Now, when I miss a day at the gym, I don’t feel as empowered as I do on the days that I attend. Since joining Burn, I’ve lost approximately 60 lbs. I think the key to my success in my fitness journey is this: don’t try to beat a number, don’t chase stats. Craft small, feasible goals that you can achieve, and always celebrate your wins with ice cream!”
