Big thank you to the Carroll family for letting us host this worthy event. The weather was absolutely perfect and the scores were pretty good too! The winning squad Toby Goff, Kenny Peters, Carl Haddon and TJ Hill shot a 14 under par 58 (10 under coming on the front 9). Matt Gunter's team of him, Paul Emerson, Cole Emerson and Cord Stover shot 12 under to finish 2nd and 11 got 3rd...Jody McClosky, Josh Raiborn, Lily Raiborn, Caleb Michael and Terry Downs. Jody won the closest to the hole on #6 and David Blankinship took long drive on #4. Thanks again to everyone who played, donated or sponsored...couldn't do it without your support!

Thanks to all the volunteers and Birmingham Golf Club for making this year’s event a great time for all. Most of all thanks to the Lord for giving us a beautiful day.

We never want to forget the one we came to honor, Collin Carroll who left us far too soon. We miss him every day.

This tournament has been bringing golfers together for fun, friendly competition, and plenty of laughs since the late 1980s! It's one of our favorite traditions here at Birmingham Golf Club, and we're excited to keep it going!

Wow! Did the Dyess Family and Friends deliver or what?! 🤔 They had 20 teams of 4 (actually one team had 5 players). That's 81 players if you're keeping score at home! I'm pretty sure that's a Birmingham record for most players on the course at one time (and no one got arrested 😁). We had people overflow parking almost halfway down our driveway in by #1/ #4 fairway! And even at the baseball park! It was all done to help raise money to help David Cannon and his family with medical expenses...and from all indications it was a HUGE success! Jimmy Dyess ramrodded this event with help from Paula Richards Dyess and many others. He handled the rules, which means the winners weren't really the winners after drawing poker chips with + or - numbers (that changed their scores). I really don't know who actually won, but I think everyone might have 🤔. (The actuaI lowest score was shot by Neill Long, Kenny Peters, Dustin Byrd and Jay Ocet with 13 under par 59! Great score! Dax Bowman, Luke Bowman, Gabe Bowman and Jimmy Clark shot a 60 and the squad of Kris Carson, Carl Haddon, Vernon Kimbrell and Thomas Kinder carded a 61). I do know that Kevin Glass won long drive, while Kris Carson won closest to the hole on #6 and Nathan Dyess took #9. I think Keith-Susan Dyess-Townsend was awarded the worst golfer award...which seemed kind of suspect considering there were numerous first time golfers playing today 🤔. There were tons of raffle items, silent auction items and Jimmy Neal auction items (which means opposite of silent). We appreciate the Dyess family for letting Birmingham host this awesome event for a great cause! The weather was perfect, the scores were good....mostly and play flowed very well...mostly. Byron Underwood did a great job with lunch too! We also appreciate all the compliments we received on the course, we've been working hard on making improvements and it means a lot! If anyone took some pictures, please share! Already looking forward to next year!

We squeezed out one last Thursday scramble tonight...even had time for a 2 hole playoff! As you can see from the picture, Jody McClosky, Terry Downs, Samuel Threadgill, Bryan Howell and Jonah Howell (from right to left...just to mess with you) were the victors. Jody chipped in for birdie on the second playoff hole to eliminate the squad of Andew Johnson, JD Thompson, Carl Haddon, Nathan Hernandez and Nick Cowan. Both teams shot -4. Nathan won yet another closest to the hole on #5 and Cord Stover took #3. Paul Emerson won the shootout...in a putt off, after Mark Raiborn and Andrew both birdied the shootout portion sending it to the putt off...I know...it sounds complicated. If you know Birmingham, then you're probably wondering how someone can win a closest to the hole on a par 5. Well, the answer to that question and also how we were able to finish before dark is simple. We teed off at 5:00 pm and we played the course backwards...all as par 3's! Not many courses are set up to even attempt this, but we pulled it off and it was fun and challenging. We ended with 25 players which isn't bad. Big thank you to everyone who made the 2026 scramble season a success. Reminder: course is closed this Saturday for the Dyess Family and Friends fundraiser for David Cannon.

We're wrapping up our Thursday evening scrambles at Birmingham Golf Club, and we're going out with a twist!

🔄 We're playing the course BACKWARDS!

That's right! We're switching things up for our final scramble of the season! Come join us for one last evening of golf, fun, and friendly competition!

On this date in 1994, we were blessed to become the owners of Birmingham Golf Club...32 years ago! So many things had to happen just right for that to even be possible. The previous owner offered to owner finance with a substantial down payment...which we didn't have and couldn't get. When it seemed like a hopeless dream and wasn't going to happen, a whole group of members paid their dues up in advance to help us come up with a down payment (some for 5 years)! We were both in our 20's and with an almost 1 year old Jacob! What faith people had in us! We have strived ever since to return the favor by making Birmingham a place people can be proud of. It's been very difficult at times, but we've always found a way to persevere. We have literally poured our blood, sweat and tears into to this place and we are so proud of where it's at right now and where it's going! We have lots of big plans coming up. Big thank yous to everyone has supported us to make all this possible. Year 33 starts tomorrow!

Have had a few calls this morning...yes, the course is open and ready for play! We got some much needed rain, but not enough to affect play. If you're not a hunter you should come out a enjoy a round!
