The scramble season is still rocking along...32 players tonight! We played from the reds, so the scores were pretty good, but only one team was the "best". Andrew Johnson, Josh Raiborn, Jacob Woodlee, Taylor Bowman, Nathan Hernandez and Nick Cowan fired a -9 for a one shot victory. They eagled #5 and parred #9, the rest were birdies! The Emerson team of Paul, Cole, Johnny, Stover...along with honorary Emerson Matt Gunter, shot -8. The squad of Kenny Peters, TJ Hill, Kelly Keahey, John Keahey and Chance Fuqua finished 3rd with a -7. Kelly won #6 closest to the hole and Kenny got #9. Andrew took long drive again! TJ took the shootout. Couple reminders, #1, tee time next week will move up to 5:00 pm and shootout at 4:30. and #2, the Mike Hamilton Memorial is September 19-20...next weekend!Please get a team if you can and help us get this tournament off to a good start.

Something must be in the water! Jody McClosky, Carl Haddon, Joel Ford, Koid Dyess and Steve Watson fired a 8 under par 28 to win the Thursday Scramble! (That's twice in 3 weeks for Jody... if you're keeping score at home). The squad birdied every hole except #2. We knew we were in trouble because we kept hearing "booyahs" ...if you know, you know. They needed every last birdie because 4 teams were just a shot back at -7! (Last week 4 teams tied for 1st at -7). Another couple of teams carded -6's. Jay Icet took #6 closest to the hole and Kitt Pate got #9. Jody was our long drive winner. Shootout tied yet again! Still having good turnouts...38 players this week! (For the record...I think the water is safe).

It was the Kenny and Kelly show tonight! Kenny Peters started things off on #9 with his own birdie...running in a 30 footer! After another birdie on #1, he then hit his drive and appoach on #2 to 5 feet for another bird. Kelly Keahey chipped within inches on #3 for another birdie and then holed out his chip on #5 for an eagle 3! If that wasn't enough he rolled in a 20 footer on #6 to get the team to 7 under par! Mark Raiborn and John Keahey were just there to witness. All that just to get into a 4 way tie for 1st. Well, cutting to the chase...Kelly chipped in for birdie in the playoff for the win! (I think Kelly may have peaked in his golf career). Carl Haddon ran in a long putt in the dark to take 2nd place along with Cody Johnson, Jay Icet, Nathan Hernanzez and Joel Ford. Long drive went to Andrew Johnson on #4. Cody Johnson took #6 closest to the hole and Konner Gayle took #9. The shootout tied with birdies by Ronny Gates and TJ Hill. Had 41 players. Reminder: The Mike Hamilton Memorial 2 Man is September 19-20.

Strange things were afoot at the Circle K.... er, I mean Birmingham (that's a Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure reference). Jody McClosky was on the winning team for the first time all year...and on his birthday no less! His teammate (and his father in law), Terry Downs actually won closest to the hole on #9 (which I think could be a Birmingham first for Terry, need to check the archives). They, and their team of Jacob Raiborn, Austin Davis, Koid Dyess and Kenny Trotter fired a season tying low score of -9! They had 1 par, #6 and a chip in eagle on #1 by Jacob...the rest were birdies!
Three teams tied for 2nd place at -7. The other closest to hole went to Tim Hill on #6 and Bryan Howell took long drive on #4. (Clay Crawford came about 10 feet from driving #2 green...a hole that plays 377 yards)! Still getting good turnouts despite the heat...40 players again! Oh...almost forgot, Carl Haddon cleaned up all the carryovers in the shootout...5 weeks of ties! He's won twice now this year.
Next event is the Mike Hamilton Memorial 2 Man on Sept. 19-20.

Had 3 teams shoot 7 under for the Thursday Scramble! That's impressive, but not to the team that shot 8 under! Ronny Gates, Casey Gates, Jay Icet, Chance Fuqua, Matthew Landrum and Roger Redden had 6 birdies and an eagle on #5 en route to the W!
The -7 that survived the playoff for 2nd were TJ Hill , Bill Hill, Jennifer Morgan, Kelly Keahey, John Keahey and Chris Landry.
Long drive went to Jay, closest to the hole on #6 went to Roger and Cole Emerson took 9. Had 41 players and the shootout tied yet again....5 weeks in a row!
Next event is the Mike Hamilton Memorial on Sept. 19-20.
