Mother Nature was not very cooperative for our spring TD/TDX trial of 2 TD and 4 TDX tracks today. Despite the rain, dropping temperatures, and snow, three teams passed. Two teams earned their TD titles: Juliana Goodwin and her lab, Rune, and Lynn Mayo and her Rottweiler, Neu-Rodes Place Your Bet. Heather Tucker and her Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Joey, aced their TDX. Congratulations to all!

TCV will be holding its annual Beginners’ Clinic for Tracking on Sunday, April 26, 2026. It fills up quickly! Click on the link to complete your enrollment form, and send it along with the waiver and check payment soon.

Beginners Clinic The seminar is structured to provide handlers with a foundation of training principles and techniques to begin tracking training with their canine companion and, if desired, working towards the Tracking Titles as offered by the American Kennel Club (AKC).

TCV held its annual VST yesterday at the Castleton campus of Vermont State University. The weather was chilly, with a few flurries and a light breeze. We had four tracks and 1 alternate but, unfortunately, no passes. Thank you to judges Martha Campbell and Ilene Morgan; the track layers Dave Bargfrede, Joanne Tobey and Patty McWilliams; and all of our volunteers. And a shoutout to the Birdseye Diner for graciously letting us takeover a table for warmth, good food, and gathering.

It was a beautiful weekend for TCV’s Fall TD/TDX trial in Danby, VT. There were 4 TD and 3 TDX tracks, with 3 new TD titles! Unfortunately, the winds from the nor’easter became quite strong just as TDX tracks were starting. Thank you to judges Ray Demarias and Ruth Vaughan.
