In Motion School of Dance In Motion School of Dance was founded in July 2000 and is entering Season 26! Come Grow With Us! Our staff qualifications are varied.

Students at In Motion will benefit from classes that focus on technique and vocabulary with progress reports for our Beginner Levels that help to keep an open line of communication with staff and parent. Our staff cares about every student and will work with families to be sure each dancer is placed properly and reaching their full potential. We have instructors on staff that have grown up in our dance school, have college training in the dance/performing arts field, and professional dance experience. With a focus on fundamentals... we provide a fun and warm atmosphere for children and teens looking to learn the art of dance.

Good Morning!

Here's your reminder for classes this evening!

We DO still have spots and I WILL still take enrollment for this session!

Intro to Dance... we had 4 interested but it seems only 2 are following through with taking the class. I've decided to keep it on for Fall but if we don't pick anyone else up for this class over the next 6 weeks, it will not remain on the recital season calendar. This class is for grades 7-12 beginner or beginner-ish. ☺️

The in house swap and shop only had 3 families interested for tomorrow night so that is canceled. If I can still reserve the space in November, I am happy to try again with the recital season enrollment.

Fall Families... I will have order forms for you next week for custom apparel through Plié Promotions and a link to our logo wear through Dance World Bazaar. If anyone is thinking about those Christmas lists... this will be the order you want to get on. This is an advantage to getting into the Fall session. This will not be offered again until early 2027.

Don't forget to hit up the Selfie 1st Day of Dance Station tonight! Thank you to those of you who have been sending me your photos! I'm holding them all for a later post! 😉 I definitely missed Jazz and Tap 1 photos Tuesday so we'll do those next week. Don't let me forget tonight! haha!

New drill unlocked in Tap 1! ✅

1 foot to 2 feet to 1 foot and aerial movement that takes us forward and backward! Oh my! AND… each set starts with a different lead leg! 😳

Right leg is our door side of the body but for short we call it the KETCHUP side.

Our left side is the mats and music side also for short we call it… MUSTARD!

Some kids will know their right from their left, some may not. They may learn and come to know KETCHUP and MUSTARD!! And when they do… we will be off and running! 😉

We will for sure do this next week and more! Day 1 is always a little slower paced as we start setting things in the classroom. By week 6 we should be ready to truck straight into recital season!

Had a little fun Monday night with a few of the kids before the adults rolled in for class.

I need to work on my reels… lol! These girls were good sports for working with me on this very quick content creation to share with you all.

Dancing With the Stars kicks off a new season tonight 8-10 pm.

Helloooooo Tuesday!! It's YOUR turn!

Be sure to stop on the main level (1st floor) and grab your selfie! I have to be honest with you... Shawn the curtain guy was the first selfie taken. 😂 But we are hoping for lots more to come!

We have a few spaces left in Pre-K and Jazz 1, a little more space in Tap 1. This means we can still take new friends! Comment below or send a DM if you'd like more information. And if you can't come tonight - no worries - come next week for the remaining 5 classes!

We've only had 2 interested in our Swap & Shop event. I emailed about it a few days ago so if you'd like it to happen and you want to participate, let me know!

Season 27 officially begins today!

The last few years I've offered a 6 week Fall Session. Then we will start back up in November with our recital season. All of our Fall families will have a 2 week window to enroll in the full year before we open it up to other families, new or from past seasons.

I invite everyone today to be sure to stop on the main level before or after class and take a photo with our selfie station. I'm also hoping to grab some content with my Level 2 kiddos tonight!

I'll also take class photos and we'll share the moments with you all here through the week.

Still need to enroll? Send a message or comment below. Apparently Facebook is only going to let me use the link 2x a month. 🙄

Need to check on dress code? There is an album here or that in photos.

I'll be pretty busy today with finalizing making sure the space is ready, reviewing lesson plans, hanging sticker charts and all the details that go into making our first Monday a successful one!
