Due to the weather, tonight's Pine State Prospects High School Tryouts have been MOVED INDOORS.

📍 NEW LOCATION:
University of Southern Maine – Costello Field House
📍 43 Campus Avenue, Gorham, ME

🕔 Time: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM (No change)

👟 Players should wear TURF SHOES or SNEAKERS only (no metal cleats).

⚾ Pine State Prospects (PSP) is looking for dedicated high school baseball players ready to compete at the next level.

📅 Monday, August 3
🕔 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
📍 University of Southern Maine – Ed Flaherty Field

PSP offers two outstanding opportunities for high school players:

🔥 PSP Showcase
Designed for players with aspirations of playing college baseball. Our Showcase teams compete in premier exposure events, team camps at college programs, and tournaments attended by college coaches throughout the Northeast.

⚾ PSP Prime – Perfect Game League Play
A highly competitive developmental program competing in the Perfect Game New England League, featuring 16–20 league games, league playoffs, and tournaments while providing a proven pathway for continued development.

Whether your goal is college exposure, high-level competition, or simply becoming the best player you can be, PSP provides an environment where Maine’s top high school talent trains, competes, and develops together.

✅ Open to all high school players (Classes of 2027–2030).

☔ Weather Update: If weather forces us off the field, the tryout will be moved indoors to Gorham Sports Center and will still run 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. We will post any location change on our social media channels before the tryout.

⚾️ D1 COMMITTED! ⚾️

The Southern Maine River Rats family is incredibly proud to congratulate Easton Genest on his commitment to Fairfield University, where he will continue his academic and baseball career at the NCAA Division I level.

Easton has been with the SM River Rats since he was just 9 years old, and his journey is a perfect example of what happens when talent is matched with relentless work ethic.

Just two years ago, Easton was a skinny 5'8" 140 pound shortstop/pitcher with an outstanding skill set and a fastball topping out around 73 MPH. He had the ability, but he knew he needed to get stronger. He committed himself to the weight room, embraced the daily grind, and trusted the process.

Fast forward to today…now 6'3" and 190 pounds.

💪 Grew into his frame.
🔥 Developed into a true two-way player.
⚾ Now touching 91 MPH on the mound.
🎓 Earned a Division I opportunity.

There are no shortcuts. Easton is living proof that hard work, dedication, consistency, and patience pay off.

Congratulations to Easton and the entire Genest family on this incredible accomplishment. We couldn't be happier for you.

Our 2026 SM River Rats Fall Baseball season is almost here!

We still have a few roster spots available and will be holding our final open tryouts on:

Fall Baseball is a great opportunity for players to continue developing their skills, compete against quality competition, and prepare for next spring.

✅ Optional weekly hitting practice during the season
