I often get asked about the difference between Folklorico and Ballet Folklórico. While both celebrate the beauty of Mexico, my heart and my teaching are rooted deeply in the Traditional Folklore.

Coming from Mexico, I see our dance as a living history. I focus on the authentic steps, the true rhythms, and the stories passed down through generations in our town plazas and festivals.

For me, it’s about:

Authenticity: Keeping the movements as they were meant to be danced.

Connection: Honoring the ancestors who created these traditions.

Cultural Pride: Teaching the next generation to carry our heritage forward with respect.

I have a deep respect for all forms of dance, but my mission is to keep the "Folk" in Folklorico. We don't just perform; we preserve.
