Our final honored Senior of 2026 is outfielder Gavin Wray.

This is Gavin's fourth year in the program and second on the Varsity. In addition to baseball, Gavin was a Varsity Cross-Country runner all four years.

Don't let the stern look on the photo fool you, he's one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

Gavin has a 3.9 GPA. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Gavin will begin his mission after graduation - in Vanuatu (Oceania).

Gavin is a gentleman, scholar, and great teammate. Early on, I worried that he might trade in his baseball spikes for a pair of track ones. I'm glad he didn't because he brings a positive attitude and We Over Me spirit to the ball park everyday. I enjoyed every moment coaching Gavin. Good luck on your mission (and pack a lot of sunscreen)!

SENIOR DAY IS TOMORROW!!!

Today's first honored Senior is catcher Fernando Ruelas.

This is Fernando's fourth year in the program and his second year on the Varsity. In addition to baseball, Fernando was a Varsity wrestler and Cross-Country Runner. He was a section qualifier for both sports and a 3rd-Team All-GEL selection in wrestling.

Fernando has a 2.75 GPA and has already enlisted in the Army National Guard where he will be a Blackhawk Helicopter mechanic for a search and rescue unit.

Fernando, I’ve known you since the 8th grade and it’s been a pleasure watching you grow as a baseball player, student, and young man. Thank you for all your contributions to EC baseball and thank you, in advance, for your service to our country. Congratulations!!!

Wednesday's second honored senior is leftfielder and second baseman, Chance Murdock.

This is Chance's 3rd year in the program and 1st on the Varsity. In addition to baseball, he played Varsity football and wrestling, was in Student Government, played trumpet in the EC Band, and was selected a representative member of the Rotary Club of Arden-Arcade.

Chance has a 3.9 GPA and plans on attending Shasta College in the fall, where he will be part of their firefighting academy.

Chance suffered a devastating football injury last year and had to miss his junior baseball season. We were happy to have him fully recover and bring, not only his work ethic, but his "Hollywood" attitude back to the ballfield.

We couldn't be prouder of your grit and determination to come back this year and enjoyed every minute of having you back on the team. Congratulations on graduation and best of luck next year.

IT'S STILL SENIOR WEEK!!!

Wednesday's first honored senior is outfielder/catcher/right-handed pitcher Alonso McGivney.

2026 is Zo's fourth year in the program and third year on the Varsity. The team's Offensive Player of the year and a second-team All-GEL selection last year, Zo was EC's top returning hitter and got off to another torrid start at the beginning of this season. Sadly, he was hit in the hand by a pitch in game five and had to miss the remainder of the season.

In addition to baseball, Zo was a Varsity wrestler for four years and carries a 3.5 GPA.

Next year, Zo plans to attend American River College and tryout for the baseball team.

Alonso, it was a privilege and a pleasure coaching you. Thank you for all you’ve done for EC baseball during your career.

Tuesday's second honored Senior is centerfielder and right-handed pitcher Brandon Flohr.

2026 is Brandon's fourth year in the program and second as a Varsity starter. As a senior, his teammates voted him a team captain.

In addition to baseball, Brandon spent three years in EC's media program (you could often see him roaming the sidelines of football, basketball, and soccer games - camera in hand) and volunteered at the EC Athletic Boosters Crab Feed.

Brandon carries a 3.0 GPA and plans on attending American River College in the fall before transferring to a four year school and majoring in Hospitality and Hotel Management.

Brandon had a season ending injuring midway through his senior season. But his love for his teammates and dedication to EC baseball never waivered. He continued to attend games and practices and added value supporting his teammates and coaches anyway possible.

Brandon, it was heartbreaking to see you have to miss so much of your senior year. But your dedication to your teammates impressed us all so much. It was truly a pleasure to watch you grow over the last four years. Congratulations!

IT'S SENIOR WEEK!!!

Today's first honored Senior is outfielder Duke Clemmons. This is Duke's fourth year in the baseball program and second with the Varsity.

In addition to baseball, Duke played football for El Camino for four years - including three on the Varsity where he ended his career as a 1st Team All-Golden Empire League player and represented EC at the 2025 Optimist All-Star game. Duke also participated in EC's EPI program.

Duke carries a 3.75 GPA and plans to attend Arizona State University in the fall where he will study mechanical engineering.

Duke, more than anyone, you epitomize our standard of being at the right place at the right time and doing the right thing. I know your effort and attitude are going to bring you much success in life. Congratulations and thank you for contributions to EC Baseball.
