Lift, move, and play. Be strong. It's what you were made for. I help people learn to be strong. I'm

For the first time in over three years, I’ve got a coach. Managed to find one who shares my name. and I started working together back in April. I’m excited for the journey, and grateful I’m in a place to make this investment again.

Why work with a coach? I no longer have the time, energy, objectivity, or confidence to dial in my own training. I’ve been training hard as a natural athlete for over 12 years. Competing in strongman since 2015. Gainz are hard to come by now. Just training hard for 8-12hr a week doesn’t move the needle anymore. I need an outside eye and a plan to keep me going. Coaching myself is much harder than coaching the Team Beebs athletes. Plus, I might learn a few new tricks as a coach and athlete from this partnership.

Apparently Nick O’Hare specializes in programming reps that take 6-10 seconds each, and sets that take over a minute. 😂 The tempo/paused variations, and new variations in general, have been a nice mental reset. They are a challenge though, despite needing little weight. The goal is to get my static strength improving again.

The joy of vehicle pull event testing. 😁 Thanks to the core team and the families who spent a few hours of their Sunday helping us figure this out. We made the teens pull vehicles over, and over, and over… in three different places. BIG thank you to staff who helped us problem solve with the tractor, train/trailers, and 1200lb blocks.

12-14yr girls will pull an F-350. 12-14yr boys, 15-17yr u105kg boys, and the older girls will pull the tractor on its own. 15-17yr 105kg+ and 18-19yr guys will pull the tractor towing 2x 1200lb blocks.

Don’t underestimate this tractor! Doesn’t look huge but it’s dense. “Neutral” isn’t like neutral on a gas vehicle. Very little momentum/roll here.

Happy birthday to my wife Jessica! Well, happy birthday week. Her actual birthday was Tuesday. Did you know she was born on the same day as the premier of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace? May 19, 1999. Now you’ll never forget.

I’m super grateful for the way she supports me in all my endeavors. We like doing life *together* - whether it’s cooking, running Strongman Saturday, having people over, competing in strongman/woman or mas wrestling, or just chilling. Our strengths complement each other. God’s goodness is displayed in giving me Jessica, and his grace covers and redeems us both.

On Saturday, we ran NorCal’s Strongest beginner and youth competition at with our crew. We had 40 athletes compete, including 15 youth aka strongkids.

The volunteer team was incredible. Took a lot of stress off me because I knew they could handle business and figure it out. 😁

I’m grateful that I can create experiences like this for all the athletes, and grateful for everyone around me who makes it possible. Strongman/woman is a sport, a way to get active and strong, a competitive outlet, a community, and more. New athletes learned that on Saturday.

Thank you to my wife Jessica for always supporting and doing this with me. Thanks to God for these opportunities. No matter how successful or strong we appear to be, we depend on his grace for everything.

Now is just around the corner…

MFW the heavy-a** truck pull was indeed really heavy.

Hope I get another crack at this one some day. Maybe a future

Photos from from a few weeks back. Thank you to for the action shots!

We forgot to get a photo together, but thank you to my amazing wife for always being there and supporting me. And yes, she lifts too. And competes, sometimes.

Also no photo, but shout-out to Scott for running this longstanding competition, despite the challenges thrown at him Saturday morning. Now that I competed at CSM, he agreed I’m finally a “real California strongman” which was the big highlight of my day. 😁

God is good, and he is my savior, in weakness and strength.

Scroll for my perspective on the gospel and sports / strength athletics. I recommend checking out and the AIA Five Principles for more resources.

🎥: CA Strongest Man final event. Atlas stone series. Disappointing end to competition. I loaded only the first stone (300lb) of five. Was expecting to get 310 and hopefully 340. At the same time, I thought the first stone was 275 and didn’t find out until later that it was 300lb. So at least I didn’t fail 300! 😝

u105kg Pro-Am Event 4. Heaviest truck pull of my life. I’m usually solid with vehicle pulls, but I just couldn’t get momentum going with this one. Finished mid-pack.

The event had some controversy. Turns out there was an issue with the brakes for *some* athletes. Head to ‘s post for a full explanation. I won’t restate it all here. As a result, the u105kg athletes were all offered a second pull to improve their score. My thoughts:

🔹 I think that was the fair call. Would do the same if I were the director in that position. The problem was clearly demonstrated, and there was VERY good evidence that the problem started before some of the u105kg athletes went. Not ideal, but stuff happens. I’ve watched footage of old Super Series events where a stone breaks midway and everyone has to redo the series. In this case, everyone gets the option of a second pull. I learned that several other u105s had a different take in the moment, and they made that clear in no uncertain terms. Blake’s dominant second pull showed that it was the right call. Thankfully he won the stones too and would’ve won overall either way. So we all settled down lol.

🔹 Personally, I didn’t really go again for the points. I did it because 1️⃣ I didn’t want to forever wonder if maybe I could’ve finished if it weren’t for that issue. Turns out it was me not being strong enough after all. 😂 My time didn’t improve. The issue started after me and before Blake. And 2️⃣ I’ve never had the opportunity to pull a truck like that before. If I can do it twice, heck, why not! I learned a lot. I had nothing to lose. I was in 5th or 6th place at the time.

I watch many, many client videos. Some make me excited. Some require replaying 20x in slow motion. And sometimes the real gold is in the background and audio. Like here. Or when I hear what music plays in the garage every week (it varies widely).

You too can join the team! I train clients online, via an app with messaging access. I work with competitive strength athletes and folks who just want to get stronger. Submit the form in my bio, or send me a message.
