High Five Sports

Are there any local teams/organizations that are looking for a place to call home year around?
After deliberations with a few organizations and considered collaboration with different community entities, we thought we were going to be able to keep our doors open! We have been a staple for ball players of all ages and a tool for little leagues of the greater Sacramento area for over 7yrs now and it will be difficult for many to accept our closing. At this time though it seems we are going to be closing by the end of February. We underwent new ownership of our building in Oct and the price hike is too significant for High Five to stay operational. All of the down time that our business endures during the Spring and Summer months when the sun is out makes it barely sustainable.

Turns out the guy was famous!😁
Said he grew up playing baseball and even played in college!

This made my day this morning!
Grandpa of a special student sent me this msg as River Park 10u won State and now are in Fresno for Western Regionals!

We are in Fresno. Yesterday was the opening ceremony and skills competition. Noah won the award for most accurate throwing from center field. He made 5 of 6 throws to his teammate at the plate where the teammate was able to catch the ball while keeping a foot on the plate. When Noah came off the field his first comment to me was: Papa, do you know why I won? It was because Coach BJ taught me to use the crow hop (his words) to make throws from the outfield.

Shout out to my student Takiyah Haygood!! Her 1st Tournament back after a long season of sitting out due to a torn labrum in her shoulder.. She was an integral part of the Nor Cal State Championship team but had to sit and watch as her Capital Christain sisters went and won the Div2 State Championship last weekend!

Congrats to my guy Matt Sanchez and his Carmichael Mariners for bringing home the District 5 Majors Tournament of Champions Banner this weekend! I met Matt when he rented space in High Five for his team almost 2 yrs ago and noticed right away how very well he worked with the kids and teaches with such patience and clarity!
Matt says it's been 16yrs since Carmichael little league has brought home a banner! Super sweet for this group of young men and well deserved for a cool Coach!
