🪽A little ballet history + a new challenge for our dancers! 🪽 As part of Student Appreciation Month, our dancers will have the opportunity to learn the Grand Waltz variation from Les Sylphides during Miss Robyn’s Tuesday & Thursday Ballet II/III classes @ 6:00–7:30 pm! 📝 First choreographed by Michel Fokine, Les Sylphides is a beautiful, plotless ballet set to music by Frédéric Chopin. The work grew out of Fokine’s Chopiniana and was presented in its now-famous Paris form by Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes in 1909, with an original cast that included legendary dancers Anna Pavlova, Tamara Karsavina, and Vaslav Nijinsky. Unlike traditional story ballets, Les Sylphides is less about a plot and more about mood, music, and movement with the dancers creating an almost dreamlike, romantic atmosphere. Now it’s your turn to step into this beautiful piece of ballet history. ✨ Come learn the choreography, explore the musicality, and experience what makes Les Sylphides such an enduring part of the classical ballet repertoire. 🩰💞 Visit our website for details on how to sign up!
