Sticking to your goals is hard because motivation fades, but structure, habits, and mindset make the difference. Here are some practical steps:

1. Get Clear on Why
• Ask yourself why this goal matters. A strong personal reason makes it easier to push through tough days.

2. Break It Down
• Big goals feel overwhelming. Split them into smaller, realistic steps you can check off weekly or daily.

3. Build Habits, Not Just Motivation
• Relying on willpower alone is unreliable. Create routines that make progress automatic (e.g., going to the gym at the same time daily, meal-prepping on Sundays, etc.).

4. Track Progress
• Use a journal, app, or even a sticky note on your wall. Seeing progress keeps momentum going.

5. Remove Temptations & Add Triggers
• Make it easy to do the right thing and harder to fall off track (e.g., put your phone in another room while working, lay out your workout clothes the night before).

6. Expect Setbacks & Plan for Them
• Slipping up doesn’t mean failure. Prepare for obstacles ahead of time and decide how you’ll bounce back quickly.

7. Stay Accountable

🧬 What Are Telomeres?
• Telomeres are protective DNA-protein structures at the ends of chromosomes.
• Think of them like the plastic tips on shoelaces — they prevent chromosomes from fraying or sticking to each other.
• Each time a cell divides, telomeres get a little shorter.
• Once they become too short, the cell either stops dividing (senescence) or dies (apoptosis).
• That’s why telomeres are often called a biological clock — their length reflects cellular aging.



🏃 How Does Exercise Affect Telomeres?

Research shows that regular physical activity can slow telomere shortening and in some cases maintain or lengthen them.

Mechanisms:
1. Reduces oxidative stress & inflammation
• Both processes accelerate telomere loss. Exercise strengthens antioxidant defenses and lowers chronic inflammation.
2. Boosts telomerase activity
• Telomerase is an enzyme that helps rebuild telomeres. Exercise may increase its activity.
3. Supports mitochondrial health
• Healthy mitochondria reduce cell stress, indirectly protecting telomeres.
4. Improves overall cellular resilience
• Exercise promotes DNA repair and better protein balance in cells, keeping telomeres stable.

Large studies show moderate-to-high physical activity is linked to longer telomeres and “younger” biological age.

Even simple activities like regular walking correlate with healthier telomere length.

Telomeres shorten naturally as we age, but exercise slows the process, helping cells stay younger and healthier for longer.

In order for one to successfully change a habit it’s always important to start small.

Small hinges swing big doors. One little change can have a huge impact in your journey towards healthy lifestyle.

Starting by drinking water first thing in the morning can help reduce weight/ burn fat and boost energy levels.

Don’t try to overwhelm yourself by trying to change too many things at once. It can be frustrating and a sure way to set yourself for failure.

We all have different ways of looking at things.

It’s all about perspective. When you think of working out to be difficult then it will certainly be so.

But when you look at it as extremely beneficial to you then you will overcome the obstacles and the difficulties.

It’s all about how you look at things. It might be not too much fun to some but others will find joy in it.

It doesn’t matter what’s in your way to your goals.

If you keep on pushing YOU will get there.

People give up so soon when it comes to exercising and getting healthy.

Remember it took you awhile to get to where you are, and it might sometimes take you even much longer to reach your goal.

One healthy meal will not get you to lose unwanted body fat.

One workout a week will not help either.

It’s about being consistent, keep pushing. Focus on YOUR big why.

No matter what, go get it everyday. IT’S WORTH IT.

We can all have excuses NOT to do what we definitely know is good for us.

It’s easy to skip that last set, last rep or a workout.

Yet if we you push a little bit harder. When you overcome those excuses, we you dig a little deeper.

When you CHOOSE to make it happen.

When you just SAY, today is not the day.

When you tell yourself just ONE more rep….

One more set….

When you overcome those negative feelings. You show love to yourself

Overcome yourself, show love to yourself.

At we always encourage our clients to work on meal prepping.

When you plan in advance you save money, reduce stress, saves you time.

Sometimes making poor nutrition choices can be avoided by planing your meals ahead of time.

It can also contribute to nutritionally balanced diet. Not forgetting the portion control aspect.

It will definitely help with weight and potion control.

Always pick a specific day for your prepping and have fun with it !

Growing up in Kenya 🇰🇪 I was used to cooked vegetables 🥗. Salads were considered food for the “rich”

For breakfast we had tea, white bread 🍞 and if you are lucky you get to spread some “BLUEBAND” otherwise also known as margarine.

Tea was normally made with milk and sugar and at times just black tea. That was breakfast.

When you hear breakfast here in the US we think 🤔 bacon 🥓 eggs 🥚, pancakes 🥞….. steak 🥩 cereal 🥣. Where are the veggies?

I never used to like salads mainly because of how I was raised. I slowly warmed up to eating salads.

I needed to find something that’s delicious 🤤 and nutritious at the same time.
Salads 🥗 are probably one of the easiest ways to eat your veggies.

Just like when you want to get ahead with your water intake, my first meal is salad.

Today’s mix was beets, super green mixed, raw almonds, avocado 🥑, Wild blueberries, kiwi 🥝.

Delicious 🤤? YES… nutritious? OF COURSE.

Good food doesn’t have to taste like cardboard…..
