Women's College Wrestler of the Year Finalists Announced - FloWrestling Deede, Guerin, Heidelberg-Tillotson, Jones, Moreno, Nwachukwu, Palumbo, and Welker are finalists for women's college wrestler of the year.

Congratulations to McClatchy Alumni and 2-time California State Wrestling champion, Tavia Heidelberg-Tillotson, on winning the NAIA Women's Wrestling National Championship last weekend. Tavia is now a 5-time collegiate All-American. Tavia's team, Menlo College also brought home the team title.

⏰ It’s Tavia Time 🔥 Tavia Heidelberg-Tillotson has made an appearance at the NAIA National Championship Tournament every year she has been an Oak. Tavia remains undefeated (19-0) after the CCC Championships when she got the pin which earned Menlo 1st place individually and as a team. One finaly ride!! #ItsOakTime

Lions Wrestling competed in the Sac-Joaquin Section D2 Individual Championships yesterday (2/10/24) and qualified four wrestlers to move on to Masters. Congratulations to:

to our latest Lion Wrestler of the Week (12/10 - 12/16)

McClatchy Wrestling hosted a Tri-Meet on Saturday, December 16th. Wrestling without their full line-up, the Lions split their matches defeating Delta High School 42-36 and losing to Rosemont 48-36. Going undefeated on the day were Isaias Chavez with 2 pins; Logan Smith with a pin and an 8-5 decision; Aaron Garcia with a pin and a 17-5 major decision; and Ahmad-Shekib Shoaib with a pin and a 15-0 tech fall. Side note: Ahmad missed making the 165-pound weight class by 0.1 pounds. He "volunteered" to fill in for our injured wrestler at the 190 weight class and dominated despite giving up more than 20 pounds to each of his opponents. 💪

Very important edit: because we failed to give props to Julian Hackman also going undefeated with 2 pins.
