Today I was triggered.

I came across a video that deeply disturbed me — a young Black girl being targeted and attacked while others stood around encouraging it. It shook me more than I expected, and it interrupted my day in a real way.

Sometimes moments like that remind us that the struggle for dignity, compassion, and protection of our children is still very real.

So today I did what I teach others to do: I paused.

I allowed myself to feel it, and then I chose to recalibrate my energy and my nervous system. For me, that meant stepping back, breathing, and returning to practices that bring me back to center.

Tonight I paused.

Like many of you, I have been watching the world, listening to conversations, and feeling the tension that seems to ripple through our nation and beyond.
