Online Training Announcement:
This free web training is offered through the UC Davis CAARE Center’s Trauma Training Academy (TTA) in partnership with the California Department of Social Services. Parenting or caring for a youth who has been at risk and/or s*xually exploited can be difficult, frustrating, and at times traumatizing. Very little research exists examining the negative effects of an experience like child s*xual exploitation on the parents/caregivers.
This 2.5-3 hour online training is for caregivers and anyone caring for a youth who has been s*xually exploited or trafficked. Participants in this training will receive information about child s*x trafficking; how to meet the needs of youth using practical parenting strategies; as well as how to manage secondary traumatic stress with self-care strategies.
