USA Softball Southern California is often the first step in a young athlete's journey. They start here. They learn here. They grow here. Then they move on—high school programs, D1, D2, and D3 colleges. A few even make it to the Women's College World Series.

But before any of that happens, it starts here.

It starts with volunteers who give countless hours.

It starts with people who put other people's children ahead of themselves.

It starts with leagues and communities that simply want to do what's right for kids.

Today, I handed out awards to a team, and the first thing those players said to me was, "We've never been in a championship game before."

That mattered.

Those moments matter.

The smiles matter.

The confidence these young athletes gain matters.

It's about the athletes. It's about providing a place for them to begin their journey, build confidence, create memories, and fall in love with the game.

This photo says what no words ever could.

Most importantly, it's a reminder that it all starts here.
