Sac City College has a new Fencing club!

Students of SCC can join and practice at the South Gymnasium Tuesdays and Fridays from 1pm to 2:30.

Earthday added about 20 folks to the discord and a half dozen came to Friday's practice and we even ran out of swords!

This Saturday (Oct 19) we have a class on the Cross Parry use of daggers at 11am. For those of one persuasion or another we will cover Low line in the first half hour as it goes fast and is intuitive, then cover in significantly more detail how useful it can be in the High lines with sparring at the end of the lecture portion.
I will open the school by 10:30am.
Class concludes at 1pm.

Back from Omega Mart!
.and apologies for the delayed cheering for practice this month.

Woo Hoo!

It really did go awesome for a local practice and great for a start towards a regional melee that folks can travel for with a good expectation of it being worth the trip.

A dozen fighters is a great core for a practice that can expand if more folks show up and still work on very specific drills and tactics that can make a world of difference in the wars we all have the opportunity to attend.

I especially appreciate our marshals who came out supporting the practice even though they were not fighting that day! I will have rotations so everyone gets to see the marshalling side of things as it is important to understand and spread the duties, but folks who can be there to support and keep swords in the fight are amazingly helpful!

Next month(Sunday, Dec 19) we will be able to start much more smoothly and get even more hat time!

Well folks we loved our time at Firehouse 5 and it is a great venue for small Rapier practices!!
But time and location move on and next Thursday the 10th will be our last before moving to:

Dance Studio practice Thursday Nights in Sacramento!
The first 45 minutes will be stretching and drills followed by open bouting.
With times as they are we will do a spot temp check and we have approval to keep doors open other than rain days.
For this first month I am reserving 2 hour sessions and if donations defray enough of the cost we will continue and grow as long as possible.
