Happy Summer, everybody! (Or winter for my people down south!)
There are nine days left on my calendar and we are still sifting through silt over here getting ready for the last week of sales at 2311 S Street. Last weekend got crazy and this weekend we’ll have dug even deeper into the stash in order to make sure all this cool stuff goes where it’s supposed to. Drop by Saturday and Sunday to see the place one last time, and maybe even take a piece of it home with you! People started taking stuff off the walls on Sunday so I guess we’re at that stage now 🤷‍♂️

Happy May Day! Bike Month is here! Well enough fanfare, I’ll just have out with it: on Friday June 30th the Repairium will be closing for good. We will be accepting repairs as long as we can (likely till about mid June) and if you’ve already got a bike here then don’t worry, it will get done. We have a bunch of bikes we’re fixing up to get out and on the road before we close, so if you’d like to take the reins on one of those for a custom build then send a message and we’ll make that happen! There is so much to say and if I could write each of you a personal letter of gratitude I would. To put it plainly, this shop has been about so much more than bikes for me over the last ten years; some serious soul work has taken place between tuneups and flat tires, tears shed over much more than a busted knuckle. I'm thankful for the help of an amazing woman who taught me to care for myself through all of this. I bear only a passing resemblance to the kid that opened this place and putting it to rest will allow me the space and time to grow even more. It’s been real, ya’ll. Thanks for everything.

Sometimes good things come in two’s, and today we’ll be closing at two!

Hey folks, I threw my back out so repairs are going out a bit more slowly than usual. Thankfully this super hero was able to come save the day and finish the bikes already scheduled for pick up, but if I haven’t already called you about your bike feel free to ring the shop to check in. I wish this were an April Fool’s joke!

And we’re back! The Repairium has officially reopened for 2023 on the rainiest day of the year so far. Mostly sitting right here returning phone calls and settling tabs, so I’ll be more likely than ever to answer if you call today. We’ve got some cool builds squared up for the coming weeks so stay tuned if you’ve resolution’d to ride more this year 🤙

We’ve got a handful of pre-rolls on the shelf if you’ll be Christmas shopping for a bike person this year. It’s hard to put together one set of tools to tinker on any bike, so if you or your giftee has a peculiar bike we can put together a kit that will keep it moving ✨ the pre-roll pictured includes a ratcheting 15mm wrench, a pair of Pedro’s tire levers, a Rema patch kit, a bottle of WPL Teflon-free chain l**e, a set of Allen keys, a Park Tool spork, and it’s all wrapped in a (clean) shop towel cinched up with a leather toe strap. We’ve of course got a load of other junk on the shelves for your perusing pleasure!

Finally restocked on goodies for the bike nerd in your life; cleaning kits for keeping the winter grime off your bike, tire pumps for plump tires from , and these cool canvas basket bags from Cardiff. We’ve got a bunch of other stuff out, but I know no one reads these descriptions when they get too long so just roll thru and say hey!

The Repairium has been open for ten years this month. We’ve broken twenty of these tire levers in those ten years and I’ve kept every one of them with the understanding that they have a lifetime warranty, meaning I could pack them up and send them in one day in exchange for some fresh ones. Is that true? Or is this one of those star-on-the-Tootsie-pop scenarios? Either way, part of me feels more inclined to keep these worthless, broken hunks of plastic instead of exchanging them for useable hunks of plastic but I think that sentimental old fool needs to take a break while I do some tidying up around here.
