What’s the difference between Mat Pilates and Equipment Pilates?
We get this question a lot.
And the answer might surprise you.
👂Listen up for the answer.

There is no template for how a woman should live in her body or her life.
But it’s easy to forget that.
Most of us spend years moving through roles… mom, partner, professional, caregiver, volunteer. None of those things are wrong. They’re meaningful. They matter. But somewhere along the way it’s easy to lose sight of the person inside them.
The fitness world doesn’t help much either.
It quietly suggests there’s a right body to have.
A right way to work out.
A right timeline.
A right level of ability.
A right version of you to become.
That’s not what we do at Nephesh.
Pilates here isn’t about doing the exercises “right” or looking a certain way. It’s about building a relationship with your body so you can move through your life with more confidence and clarity about who you are.
Not a template.
A practice that’s yours. ✨

Over the years, I’ve heard the same sentence from almost every woman at the studio:
“I wish I had learned about Pilates earlier.”
Earlier in my life.
Earlier in my body.
Earlier for the sake of my relationship with my body.
So this summer we’re trying something new at Nephesh.
I’m starting a small weekly Pilates class for teen girls (ages 13-15).
The goal isn’t to “work out.” It’s to help them:
• feel strong in their bodies
• move with confidence
• improve posture and coordination
• learn what they’re capable of
And maybe most importantly… to feel comfortable in a body that’s changing quickly.
Classes will be small and guided, just like everything we do here.
If you have a daughter (or know someone who does) who might benefit, send me a message and I’ll share the details.
There’s something I see happen every time someone starts teacher training.
At first they’re trying to keep up. Writing things down. Paying attention to the order. Trying to remember what comes next.
And then something shifts.
Pilates stops feeling like something you follow and starts feeling like something you understand.
The order makes sense. The exercises connect. Your practice changes.
That’s really what this training is about.
Early-bird tuition for the August cohort ends Wednesday if this has been on your mind.

We’re so excited to announce that enrollment is officially open for our next cohort of the Nephesh Classical Pilates Teacher Training Program, beginning August 7.
Each year we run just one group of no more than six trainees. It’s a quality over quantity situation here at Nephesh. A small group. Plenty of personal attention. A thoughtful and unique learning experience.
Over the course of the program, this group will immerse themselves in all things Pilates.
The exercises.
The system.
The history.
The bodies.
The practice.
And so much more.
Their understanding of the Method will change. Their personal practice will deepen. They will challenge themselves and grow in ways they may not even see coming yet.
And I just love getting to be their guide on that journey.
If teaching Pilates has been on your mind… or if spending time immersed in the practice you love has quietly led you to consider teacher training…
Now is the time to listen to that voice.
Enrollment is open now.
We’re also offering early enrollment perks through April 15, including immediate access to the online training portal and a discounted studio membership from May through July to support your practice before the program begins.

I’d love to hear what’s drawing you toward this work.

We’ve loved celebrating March MATness with you!
There’s still one more week left to earn raffle prizes and those coveted private sessions. But of course, our love for the matwork doesn’t end when March does.
This month is simply a chance to reconnect with this special part of the Pilates studio and spend a little extra time inside the exercises.
We hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as we have.
You still have two chances to earn prizes:
Thursday at 6 pm
Sunday at 9 am
Don’t miss it. See you on the mat.

Here’s my hot take…
your Pilates practice should be about you.
Your body, your goals, your progress. Not whatever the person next to you is doing.
That’s why in our studio, even in a group workout, everyone is on their own path. We guide, support, and give hands-on help so you’re actually learning and building strength that matters for YOU.
Pilates was never meant to be a follow-the-leader situation.
It’s a choose-your-own-adventure that teaches you how to move.
And that’s the part I love most.

We love to talk about the transformative power of Pilates. But to see our members discover it for themselves… that’s the magic.

Always learning. Always implementing. Always showing up to get the most out of your practice.
That’s how we roll at Nephesh Pilates.
Whether you’re settling in for your workout or diving into your teacher training manual, having a learning mindset is what makes The Pilates Method work. It’s how you understand your body and The Method at a deeper level each time you practice.
We don’t expect perfection here. We expect curiosity, effort, and an openness to try… and try again.
Because around here, learning is the thing that moves you forward. No matter where you are in your Pilates journey.

This time of year always tests me. Full calendars, endless to-dos, and lots of noise.
The one thing that keeps me grounded? My Pilates practice.
It’s the time in my day that’s just for me to move, breathe, and come back to center.
I set a simple goal: three workouts a week through the end of the year.
Because when I’m consistent, everything else feels easier.
If you’ve been thinking about starting (or restarting), we’ve made it simple:
✨ Studio Path: 30-day intro with unlimited workouts + weekly 1:1
✨ Private Path: 5-week series of 1:1s for a more personal start
Both help you build the consistency that changes everything.
