CLARA Studios CLARA provides a sustainable home for the arts and arts education CLARA — the E.

Claire Raley Studios for the Performing Arts — provides studio and performance space for professional and community-based arts groups to create, collaborate, develop stability, and grow. We opened our doors in April 2016, and our creative spaces are already fully leased. We are deeply grateful to our many partners -- including the City of Sacramento, Sacramento City Unified School District, the Raley-Teel family, and many other artists and visionaries -- for helping to make our work possible!

📢 Community Class Announcement

We will starting a new session of Musical Theatre Dance!

BUT this round is for 55+!

We’ve heard so much great feedback from the community about expanding our age range for the class and Angela agreed with you!

Enjoy the spirit of Broadway in a fun, beginner-friendly class! Learn a group dance from a classic show with guided warm-ups, simple, choreography and options for all abilities!

This new session runs Oct 27 - Dec 22 on Tuesdays from 11am to 12:15pm!

You can sign up for the entire 8 class series or for a drop in class!

This past weekend was so EVENTful!

We had another All Arts Night Market with some amazing young artists and community artists!

We also had SacTheaterCon on Saturday and Sunday!

So much artistry in one building! We are so honored to welcome all artists into our building!

Arts education doesn't have to wait for a field trip. Through CLARA's Teaching Artist Residencies, professional artists bring music, dance, and theater into TK–6 classrooms every week, guiding students from rhythm and movement all the way to performances of their own.

During the 2025–2026 school year, those residencies reached 9,510 students in more than 300 classrooms across the Sacramento region, many of them in schools with low arts access.

With our next session of classes starting next week, we wanted to share a Community Class Testimonial!

This review comes from Jennifer, a mother and participant in Jenny’s “Neurodiversity and Creativity: Let’s Explore Theater!” Workshop that we hosted back in June.

We were so happy to hear about the positive experience, Jennifer and her child had with our class. We hope to keep creating these opportunities and experiences for all of our community members.

Jenny, like all of our teaching artists, are dedicated to making safe spaces for everyone to explore Art. Their passion for sharing their art form, exceeds expectation and continuously keeps us motivated to curate more diverse classes for our community.

At CLARA, we hope to cultivate an environment where community participants are free to make mistakes, share their ideas and tap into their inner artist without the fear of judgment.

Our upcoming classes include:

• The Playwriting Lab for Young Writers (10-13) with Jenny Winstead-Rodrigues

• The Playwriting Lab for Adults with Anthony D’Juan
