Hello Parents of Natomas Girls Softball,
My name is Cassi Ponzo and I am the Program Director for USA Softball of Sacramento. USA Softball is the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States. We are charged with developing, promoting and overseeing the game of softball in the Sacramento area.
Natomas Girls Softball is one of the local recreational leagues that register under the USA Softball umbrella and has a rich tradition of providing youth in the Natomas footprint a place to play recreational softball. When the league had to shut down during the 2020 Covid pandemic, they lost a lot of their volunteers and were unable to recover with enough support to reopen for 2021 or the 2022 spring season.
I am reaching out to members of your league today to ask for help. Natomas Girls Softball is a non-profit organization run entirely by the parents of the organization. Without parent's involvement, the league cannot function.
The league has the funding, fields and equipment to get back up and running and just needs some committed individuals to help facilitate the program. There are past board members willing to mentor new people as they fill the positions needed to operate the league.
USA Softball has 23 other Recreational League programs that encompass more than 600 teams in the Greater Sacramento Area that all would love to see the Natomas league back up and running so they can interleague and provide a strong and dedicated place for the girls in Natomas to play.
Please consider stepping up and joining the Board of Directors NOW. If the league cannot get SEVERAL people to commit to the Board, there will not be a next season for your children to play within this league.
