Jesus walked into that room with His disciples knowing He was going to be betrayed.
He knew Judas would turn against Him.
He knew He had been sold for a handful of silver.
He knew He would be stabbed in the back by someone He had poured His life into.
And yet Judas ate too.
Jesus fed Judas too.
Jesus prayed for Judas too.
Jesus washed Judas’ feet too.
I struggle to fathom that kind of love.
A love that would feed the mouth that deceived Him.
A love that would wash the feet of the one who betrayed Him.
A love that could love someone even when He knew exactly what they were about to do.
And then it hits me…
I’m Judas too.
I’ve failed Him. I’ve turned away. I’ve fallen short. And yet He still loves me.
That’s what overwhelms me most.
Judas ate too.
The true test of following Jesus isn’t just loving the people who love us back. It’s learning to love the people who hurt us, disappoint us, betray us, and are difficult to love.
Loving someone who is easy to love is easy.
But loving a sinner like Judas?
That’s where we learn what it really means to follow Jesus.

Lord, help me love like You do.

Sometimes we get so caught up trying to figure everything out that we forget God already has the plan.
This Sunday, let’s slow down, trust Him, and remember that we don’t have to have all the answers. Just trust the One who does.
