Here’s a drill that can really help you learn how to generate power using hips and front foot leg drive. Is using a 3d strap from to add Resistance in this demo, but all you need is a towel, and something to hit!

I’ve been dealing with a little glute and hip tightness, so I free-styled into this movement. It really helped a lot, but Is more challenging then you might think! The modified version would be to keep the foot on a slider, paper plate, or socks on carpet. Also, it’s hard to see, but I’m reaching my right foot as far left as I can on the way back to get a good stretch.

Poor posture is a common issue everywhere you turn because of video games, desk jobs, and staring at phone screens. It’s a common cause of chronic pain, and has the potential to lead to injuries in athletes. That’s why it is so important to train the upper back muscles. Here’s one of my favorites to strengthen the “posture” muscles - banded crossover angels.

The push/pull combination is a great way for rotational athletes to build Strength and power. Here’s one of my go-to’s. In the first part I’m using slow controlled reps, and fighting torso rotation. In the second part I’m completing the exercise with more speed and power, and allowing rotation. If you don’t have access to a cable machine or kettlebells, bands and dumbbells will work as well!
