Rides better than new. Why you ask? If you buy a new department store bike, it generally is not set up properly. It will generally not have proper lubrication in the wheels, and axles are over/under tightened and not adjusted properly. This means the bike requires much more effort to ride.

New Department store bikes will generally need extensive set-up to get a good riding experience (often costing at least $40-80 or more at your local bike shop). This bike requires no setup, and is ready to ride. This bike is very easy riding, low rolling resistance, you can coast for days! Trek has issued a recall that affects the front quick release opening and locking up in to the front disc brake (If you bike is so equipped), but actually affects more than just Trek.
