Wow! We cannot believe it’s been 5 years since we headed north for the inaugural CanAm Cup. This weekend kicked off the latest iteration as 20 new friends from Canada convened in St. Paul for their USA Curling adventure. We managed to get most of our group together, the largest gathering since the original tour to greet them. Others will participate along the way.

And of course we grabbed a beer at a local brewery!

Good curling !!

What have team members been doing the last two years since the inaugural CanAm Cup? Just building new dedicated curling ice in the United States! Congrats to (Sean Stevinson) (Doug Owens) and .la (Matt Gamboa).

Watching and having flashbacks of the epic tour! Including when some of us ran into at the airport in Halifax!

Today we’re thankful for a lot. This team, our new Canadian friends, the folks who helped make this happen, our families for giving us the space to do such a trip, our friends and family who cheered us on back home, our bus driver Ed (there in the middle), Screech and good craft beer, mussels and fish and brewis, and everything else this great sport of curling has given us!

A year ago today we wrapped up a 16 day tour of Eastern Canada’s four provinces and secured the inaugural CanAm Cup for the USA. The games were filled with highs and lows, being down by almost 40 points on a couple of occasions. Everything else was a whirlwind trip filled with great food, drink, and friendships. Most of us didn’t know each other when we met up in Boston, but the group texts continue today.
Reflecting back a year later, it’s pretty wild to see how different the world we live in is now and how fortunate we were to have completed this endeavor last year. So it’s very fitting that this anniversary lands around Thanksgiving.
We look forward to the day we can get back on the ice and on a plane to meet up again with each other and our friends in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick.

Too many to name. But some of the tops that come to mind were fish and brewis at the St.Johns Remax Center Curling Club Nova Scotian lunch at Wolfville Curling Club.

Can’t believe it’s already been a year since the Tour...a ton has changed since we took off to Canada (understatement of the century) but this has been one of the impactful journeys of my life, so it’s nice to receive some commemorative pins to celebrate the one-year anniversary as we reminisce the simple things, like traveling and curling

A year ago today we embarked on the inaugural CanAm Tour and were fortunate enough to bring home the win!

One year ago I flew to Boston, MA, to meet up with these guys. From there we headed to Halifax, NS, and spent the next two weeks plus in Atlantic Canada meeting some of the most welcoming people on the continent and emerging with an improbable win. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Last week I received a very special gift commemorating the one year anniversary of the first CanAm Cup of Curling, including a set of these special pins. I am so grateful to be a part of this group and to have represented USA Curling.
