Community, ground up, grassroot works is rarely recognized or acknowledged. It takes sacrifice, dedication, commitment, vocation and the willingness to prioritize development over immediate results, performance over outcome, long term payoff over short lived effects. THIS is what SOL of the Cities TC Sol Futsal Mario Wimberly Sparkle Wimberly and myself have dedicated to do over the years in community. I have been fortunate to receive many accolades and local and national recognitions over the years for my work around youth development & youth engagement, in soccer, volleyball, swimming and drowning prevention, but this invitation is specially meaningful and relevant because it showcases my work over the past 20 years with my neighbors, in this city that I love to work for and live in, the school my kids went to St. Paul Central High School:

and more importantly allows me to connect with kids from all of the St Paul City Conference that I have worked with, helped develop, and enjoyed watching their soccer journeys. I'm honored to be coaching, alongside legend and long time friend Manny Lagos, the St Paul All Stars at the upcoming Stars of the Cities All Star game this coming Saturday November 9th at the The Sanneh Foundation fields when the All Start players, boys and girls, from both the St Paul Conference and the Minneapolis Conference will compete for the title of the best of the Twin Cities!
I hope many of you will join us in celebrating these players, coaches and the community at large as we close a fantastic 2024 season!
Once again, deeply grateful and honored and none of this would have been possible without the many colleagues, friends and allies that helped along the way.

MSHSL approves boys high school volleyball as a spring sport The Minnesota State High School League announced Thursday that the first season of Minnesota high school boys volleyball would be played in the spring. The sport officially becomes a sanctioned sport in the 2024-2025 season.

Converted basketball player leads Prior Lake to the boys volleyball club state title Luka Mortensen's 18 kills helped the Lakers to a victory over Rogers in the final, as the sport continues its transition to being a Minnesota State High School League-sponsored sport for the 2024-25 school year.
