We are excited to welcome the public to our Klenengan on Sunday, October 9th from 4:30-7:30.

Experience the relaxing, rich textures of gamelan music in an evening of longer, meditative pieces for Javanese gamelan.
The Sumunar Gamelan Ensemble, directed by Joko Sutrisno, will play traditional Javanese gendhing in an open, informal house concert. All are welcome, coming when you can and staying as long as you like, perhaps bringing a favorite pillow or your favorite book. Tea will be served, and masks are optional.

Beginning Gamelan Classes are starting back up again! Have you been curious about learning Gamelan but hesitant because you have no musical experience? Not a problem! Anyone can learn. This class is suitable for teens and adults.

Classes will be Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:00 pm starting as early as next week in our St. Paul studio at the intersection of University and Prior Ave.

We are still taking Covid precautions and n95 masks are strongly encouraged.

The Continuing Gamelan class meets after the Beginning Class on Wednesdays and beginners are welcome to stick around for that too.
