It is our 3rd anniversary month, and we have a special couple to highlight as we wish them many anniversaries to come! Introducing Chuck and Erin who have a very special story!

Why do you love pickleball?
Erin: I love pickleball because I’ve met so many wonderful people, including Chuck, and it’s fun to play!
Chuck: I love pickleball because it has brought me so many things like friendships, a competitive drive that I had been missing for awhile, it’s really fun and most importantly pickleball brought me the love of my life!

How long have you been playing?
Erin: I’ve been playing for about 5 years/currently playing 4.5
Chuck: I’ve been playing pickleball since 2022/currently playing 4.5

Pickleball goals:
Erin: Just continuing to have fun and enjoy the game
Chuck: My current goals are to get to a 4.5 DUPR and participate in more moneyball tournaments

"Chuck and I met through pickleball and were originally just tournament partners for about 6 months before we started dating. Fun fact: I actually tried to avoid playing with him at first, but he was relentless and really wanted a mixed partner. It’ll be exactly 3 years together on our wedding day this July!" - Erin

"And now what you came here and my favorite thing to tell is the story of Me and Erin! So Erin and I weren’t exactly love at first sight, my first words to her was at MPC late 2022 when she was doing a tourney with her dad and he got injured and I told her “you better learn how to poach really quick” After that we would always coincidentally ended playing at the same clubs at the same times, and every time I would try to play with her she would say I’ll play the next game and then miraculously disappear. I still asked her to do a tournament with me at my local club the Maryland Heights rec center. I was determined at that time to have a permanent Mixed doubles partner because signing for two events in a tournament is always better than one, and mixed doubles parters for guys are not easy to find. So that first tourney we did in February 2023 I knew we had to win so that Erin would pair with me again but I also had to be a nice guy to prove a point.
We go on to win that tournament and countless others over a stretch of several months, and naturally spending a lot of time together both on and off the courts and on July 11, 2023 Erin and I became official. " - Chuck
