Spanish paella on Ambiance!

When it comes to running aground on a sailboat I always say there are those who have and those who lie about it. So I will come clean and say I ran aground today. Not once, but three times! Twice trying to get out Sarasota Pass this morning. The water levels were clearly lower than I thought. We wisely bailed out after the second time and came down the ICW to Venice. Then I did it again when I got distracted coming into Pelican Bay! All's well that ends well and we are safely anchored enjoying a sundowner.

Proof of life! Or at least existence. I got the chance to go by and check Ambiance this afternoon. Embree STILL hasn't finished fixing the soft spot in the cockpit. They had 8 months! The exterior is a gross disaster but nothing a good washing and a coat of wax can't fix. The interior is dry and clean, and smells good! The dehumidifier was on and doing its thing. We hope to have her in the water by the end of next week. Im afraid the charger/ inverter controller may have given up. I'm not sure if it can be replaced or if I will need a whole new inverter/ charger and monitoring system. On the plus side Chad says our CuKote bottom should be good to go. No need to repaint.

We are less than a month from returning to the US and getting Ambiance back in the water! She has been on the hard at Embree for over 8 months! My good friend Eric Ludin has very nicely checked on her several times but I'm dreading the list I'm going to have of things that have magically broken or stopped working while she has been in storage. It's time to do some cruising!

Epic New Years eve on Ambiance! Thank you to all the friends and family who came out to celebrate with us. I think we found the seating capacity for the cockpit!
