One of the things I value most about creating my products is sourcing ingredients through small businesses whenever possible.

Supporting other small makers and suppliers keeps money circulating through our communities, but it also means that sometimes ingredients become unavailable, are discontinued, or simply can't be sourced when I need them.

Recently, one of the oils used in Savage became unavailable, indefinitely...
So, I had to search for the closest match I could find.

The new formula shares many similar qualities, but as I explain to people all the time, you can have 2 of the same oils from different companies, and they will smell slightly different.
The distillation process, the region, soil conditions, climate, harvest timing...
No version of an oil is ever an exact replica of another.

The new formula remains crafted with the same care, intention, and purpose.
The scent, feel, or overall experience may be slightly different, but the spirit of the product remains the same.

Thank you for supporting handmade products and understanding that working with natural ingredients and small scale suppliers occasionally means adapting when Mother Earth and the supply chain have other plans.

Fresh sassafras root still available.
Went to cut these monsters up today to make syrup and tinctures and realized there is still plenty fresh still 🌿

Traditionally, sassafras has been used as a warming, aromatic herb.
People often describe the experience as grounding and comforting, with a rich root beer like aroma that can feel subtly uplifting and heart opening through scent and warmth.
It's best described as lightly uplifting or nostalgic in feel ✨️

Most of the effect is sensory and ritual based rather than intense or stimulating.
Not for every day use or it can be taxing on the liver.

This root is best used fresh for deeper aroma and full bodied root character, especially when slow simmered into a decoction which I am doing now in a very small batch.

This is a time sensitive harvest.
Once it’s gone, that’s it until next round.

For brewing & syrup -

I’m making fresh decoctions in 32 oz (quart) increments for consistent small batches
Each brew simmers about 60 minutes, then a short steep to finish
Once brewed into syrup, it stays best 3–5 days refrigerated for full freshness and flavor
You can also freeze portions if needed to preserve it longer

HMU if you want to reserve yours.
The last of the fresh root is gonna be only good for about the next 3 to 5 days before it dries out!

After that it can still be processed, but it won't be as alive.

This is great for sober event hosts that are looking for a sensory experience that doesn't involve alcohol 🩷
