And they (10U) won their 2nd game, despite the brief downpour 🌧️ ! They were SO hyped and so were the parents! Next game is tomorrow at 10:00AM.

After a bite to eat, we went with the 10U further south to Twin Lakes in Sarasota for 2 more games. 🛻 💨 They won their first game. On to game #2…hope the rain 🌧️ stays away. 🤞🏾

Things heard in the dugout during the parent game: It’s hot out here!🥵 Where my hat 🧢 When do I get to hit?🥎 Where my glove👀 Am I next?🤔 Who gonna slide - Not me 🫪 I can’t throw that far 😯That ball moving too fast 💨 Don’t throw the ball to me so hard ⛑️I need some water 💦 or something🥤I’m bout to pass out 😵 ☠️ How many innings we playing again? #️⃣ How much longer we gonna play⏳ I don’t need no runner-I got this 🏃🏾🏃🏽‍♀️Somebody need to switch 👈🏾👆🏾 👉🏾👇🏾positions with me- the ball 🥎 keep coming over here 😂 Imma need some ibuprofen after this 💊… no injuries, laughs and a good time! It’s been a few years but the return of the Parent Game was upon us. It was a tense time forming the teams, as our Babe Ruth players served as team captains. Some wouldn’t even pick their own mom for their team despite getting the evil eye 👀😂. Kid players served as umpires and base coaches. After stating some ground rules and a silent prayer for safety, it was time to Play Ball! ⚾️ Yeah there were strikeouts but there were home runs too! The Coaches HAD to show the players that they could actually play. Parents wanted to hit AND run, despite having the option of a pinch runner 🏃🏾. Teams were pretty even with skill levels so it was a GOOD game. Parents were COMPETITIVE! They were determined to have a winner - no tie! This is for bragging rights. A full 6 innings!

What a day! 2-inning scrimmages where the parents took the field as coaches to experience what it feels like. Mistakes were made but all had fun!
Bounce houses, games and sno -cones made a repeat appearance. But free concessions was the star! As Coach Charles says 📢 “Hot dogs! Hamburgers! Grilled chicken sandwiches! Chicken wings! And French fries!” Everyone ate until it was all gone.
