We welcome both runners and walkers on Saturday, June 20th, 2020. Scholarships provide an opportunity for many of our youth to earn an education.

The Downtown 20K Relay Race is established as a fun way to raise funds for scholarships for students.

The city will never be the same. Come together in the capacity you are able to and make a difference.

If you do nothing else but provide a word of comfort, a hug to a neighbor or even a smile to a stranger...that makes a difference.

Let's take time today to give praise and thanks. We are able to tell the story.

Due to the uncertainty of yet another year of COVID and really wanting to provide you with the relay experience, we have decided to bypass this year and prepare for June 2022.

But in the meantime get ready as we prepare to launch a variety of exciting activities leading up June Deuce Deuce baby (if popped in your mind, consider yourself a seasoned vet)

Fun Fact: Did you know that St. Petersburg, Florida was incorporated in 1892? That was nearly a century before St. Petersburg, Russia changed its name after the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. Our historic city is filled with beauty and culture that sometimes goes unnoticed. Let’s continue to add to that history together!

Fun Fact: In 1967, Kathrine Switzer became the first woman to run in the Boston Marathon with an official bib. At the time, women were not allowed to participate in the race that was all male for 70 years. She entered under the name K.V. Switzer so that officials wouldn’t automatically identify her as a female. While running, a race director saw and chased her in an attempt to take her numbers, until her boyfriend stopped him. She was able to finish the race in 4 hours and 20 minutes. Despite her efforts, women weren’t allowed to officially compete in the Boston Marathon until 1972, five years after Switzer’s initial participation. Today, the number 261 is a symbol of strength and courage for women runners around the world.
