Yoga is a compassionate tool for living. It's my honor to assist you in learning and practicing it t Physical postures start slowly, then get more challenging.

Whether in a class setting or a private session, I can teach you an ancient system that will improve your health and well-being. Classes are donation based, and usually held outdoors to maximize the energy absorption of fresh air into the bloodstream. We wind-down at the end and practice breathing exercises (pranayama) and a little bit of meditation.

Not friendly weather for yoga tomorrow, so have to cancel again.

Well this doesn't happen often, but I'm canceling the class tomorrow due to cold weather! It's too counterproductive to try and stretch and relax when it's freezing out. We will resume next week.

Well, I've unfortunately decided to cancel class this morning. The rain has made the ground wet and muddy, and it may rain again so....next week we shall try again.

No class this Saturday. I'm attending a weekend of yoga workshops in Ft. Lauderdale. See you next week...

YOGA TIP: Chaturanga is an important pose to strengthen core and shoulder girdle, but the fact that we do it do many times means it is rife with possibilities for repetitive strain injuries. We need to protect our rotator cuff muscles, tendons and ligaments, and we do that by engaging muscles that *support and stabilize* the shoulder girdle. Those are the lats, rhomboids, triceps and serratus muscles. Try and direct your awareness to your side body and consciously flare your lats when in the pose. This will help to fire the other stabilizing muscles as well, I find this engagement easier to do if I pull my elbows in toward my body, almost touching. Get the hang of this and enjoy a long-lasting, healthy practice, free of shoulder injuries.

The ground will be wet and soggy tomorrow and more rain is in the forecast so unfortunately class is canceled. We'll pick it up again next weekend.
