Probably the smallest boat they have ever launched with the travel lift. Thanks to Jopie and the guys at Sailors Wharf.
Headed to put the boat on the lift behind Luke's house tomorrow. Then we can buckle down and start some sailing leading up the EC 2016.
I just spoke with Bill, and they are fine. The boat, however, experienced significant damage, and Luke and Bill have made the difficult decision to stop racing. They were just entering Stump Pass when the incident occurred, and by amazing luck there were a couple of future Watertribers scouting the area in a powerboat, and they pulled Hot Canary about 6 miles to a marina, refused offers of money, and dinner, and simply went on their way. As you can imagine, Bill and Luke are incredibly thankful. The boat is already out of the water, and on the trailer, and Bill and Luke have retired to The Fishery restaurant in Placida. Tomorrow they will get the boat back home so it can be repaired.
I've just received a report that Hot Canary has suffered a broken rudder. Luke and Bill are OK, and they are being towed into a marina. I'll post more when I learn more, but I'm assured the guys are safe.

Starting from the beach, Saturday morning, March 1st, 2014
Heard on the beach this morning: An older gentleman, schooling his wife said, "These are very high tech boats, with cardboard-fiber masts and stuff."
Now you know.
