Summer fun with SPA Fossil Park Summer Swim Team 🌞

Full circle! 💙💚

Coach Alex (Fossil Park) and Coach Callie (Shore Acres) both started their swimming journeys with the Shore Acres Summer Swim Team under Coach Patty, then moved through the North Shore Aquatics program and went on to have successful high school and collegiate swimming careers.

Today, they’re back on deck as SPA coaches, inspiring the next generation of swimmers. We’re so proud to have them giving back to the sport and the team that helped shape them!

Congrats to Ansley Bess and Eugene Novak who were selected to represent SPA and Florida Swimming at the Southern Zone Select Camp!

So proud of Brinkleigh Hansen! 🌊🇺🇸 After finishing 15th overall (2nd American) in the 10km in Ibiza and then 6th overall (top American) in the 10km in Golfo Aranci — both against a world-class international field — she’s earned her spot on the 2026 Pan Pacific Championships team. We can’t wait to cheer her on in Long Beach this August! 👏

A big SPA thank you to Council Member Lisset Hanewicz and the City of St. Petersburg for the invitation to present our partnership story to City Council! St. Petersburg Aquatics is so proud to have called this city our home for over 46 years and even more excited to give back in a big way with a brand new scoreboard for the Northshore Aquatic Complex. Here’s to many more years together! 💙🏊‍♀️

Last weekend, several of our SPA swimmers took on the St. Anthony’s Meek and Mighty Triathlon and reminded us that the grit they’ve built in the water carries far beyond the pool. Crossing that finish line takes heart, endurance, and the kind of determination we see from this group every single day.
So proud of everyone who toed the start line and gave it everything they had. SPA all the way 💙

Four SPA swimmers were nominated for the inaugural ISCA ORCA Awards — and three brought home hardware! 🏆
Congrats to Luca Ferrera (10 & Under Boys), Brinkleigh Hansen (18 & Under Women’s Open Water), and Sawyer Hansen (Heart of the Sport) on their wins, and a huge shoutout to Isen Wolfe for his nomination. We’re so proud of all of you! 💙
