A Community That Showed Up ❤️
I’ve been trying to figure out how to put this into words because honestly… thank you doesn’t feel like enough.
This school-supplies event was created by Uncommon Brotherhood MC, and we were honored to host it at O.B.S. What happened that day was so much bigger than school supplies. It was a whole damn community coming together for kids.
To Suge, President of Uncommon Brotherhood MC — thank you for continuing to care so deeply about these kids and this community. You continue to put your time, energy, resources, and heart into creating things like this, and I hope you know how much that matters. Events like this don't happen because somebody simply has an idea. They happen because somebody cares enough to keep making the idea happen. Thank you for being that person.
To Uncommon Brotherhood MC and their wives — WOW. You guys showed up before noon and worked your asses off until damn near closing at 10 PM. You cooked outside for hours, provided a huge amount of the school supplies, donated both bicycles for the raffle, provided food for the kids, and poured so much into making YOUR event happen. Thank you doesn't begin to cover it.
And I need to give Erika her own damn paragraph. ❤️
Erika, you are not only Suge's wife, you're one of my bridesmaids, one of my best friends, and one of the people I know I can count on. You worked your ass off with me behind that bar until you finally couldn't do anymore. 😂 You had already spent the entire day helping with the event, and then you stayed and helped me keep O.B.S. moving after the doors opened. I love you, girl. Thank you for always showing up for me. ❤️
To VFW Post 3168, especially Commander Chris and all of the Post 3168 officers, thank you for stepping up and supporting this event and helping make sure we could get supplies into the hands of local kids. ❤️ And Chris… you already know you're my other home bar. 🍻
To Amazing Amy Bail Bonds — thank you for the absolutely INSANE amount of school supplies you donated. You helped put a lot of smiles on some kids' faces.
To Rhonda Cortizini — thank you for donating supplies and helping support the kids in our community.
To Still Usables Ministry, right next door — thank you for sharing the supplies you had left over from your own event. Instead of letting them sit unused, you made sure they found their way to kids who could use them. That's community.
To Nate Font from Kutt'n Up Barber Shop — thank you for donating your time and your talent to give the kids haircuts.
To Lena Crane — thank you for spending hours braiding hair and making the girls feel extra special.
To Sarah Vannier — thank you for putting in the time cutting hair, even after your clippers decided they had other plans. 😂 You still gave it your all.
To Emalee Godfrey — thank you for spending hours painting nails and giving the girls a little extra pampering.
And to Emalee's friend, the local stylist who came out and cut hair for the girls — I haven't forgotten you! I just need your name so I can give you the recognition you deserve. ❤️
To Miss Waynesville — thank you for showing up and helping man the supplies table. Your help mattered more than you probably realize.
To my future husband, Rob 💓 — you spent the entire day running around with me getting supplies, helping set everything up with the guys, working your butt off behind the scenes, and then got absolutely slammed behind the bar with me once O.B.S. opened. You never once complained. You just kept going. I couldn't have done that day without you.
And yes, I'll give myself a little credit too. 😂❤️ I bought extra backpacks and supplies because I wanted to make sure we had enough, and I spent the day running around making sure people were hydrated, taken care of, and—most importantly—respecting the people who gave their time, money, food, supplies, and energy to make this possible.
Because that's what this was about.
Not money.
Not recognition.
Not who donated the most.
Kids. Community. And people showing up for each other.
There were no requirements to participate. Nobody had to give anything. And yet so many people chose to.
That's the kind of community I want to be part of.
From all of us at O.B.S., and especially from the kids who got to walk away with something they needed (and maybe something that just made them smile)...
THANK YOU. ❤️
You all helped make something pretty damn special happen.
And this is only the beginning. ❤️
We look forward to doing this AGAIN next year — and making it even bigger, better, and more badass.
Because if this community can come together like this once, just imagine what we can do next time. 🖤💜
See y'all next year!
