🐾 Salem Bobcats 7th/8th Coed Rec Travel Earn Big Win!

Final Score: Salem Bobcats 5️⃣ – O’Fallon OF5 1️⃣

What a performance from our 7th/8th Grade Coed Rec Travel team! The Bobcats came out strong and never let up, earning an impressive 5–1 victory over O’Fallon OF5 on Saturday.
The Bobcats took control early, heading into halftime with a 2–0 lead. Calen Veit-Tackitt ( #12) found the back of the net twice in the first half, with assists from Zane Wesselmann and Zeke Tackitt.
The team continued its offensive pressure in the second half. Zeke Tackitt extended the lead to 3–0, followed by Jonah Finley making it 4–0. O’Fallon would find the net once, but the Bobcats answered right back as Calen completed his hat trick, scoring his third goal of the match to make it 5–1.

☀️⚽️ Salem Select U12 Girls Battle Through the Heat! ⚽️☀️

It was a brutally hot day for a doubleheader, but our Salem Select U12 girls battled through and finished the day 1-1!

🔥 Game 1: Salem Select 2 – CarShield FC 1
The girls came out strong despite the heat and earned a hard-fought 2-1 win!

🔥 Game 2:
With tired legs, very few subs, and only a short break between games, the girls faced a much older and bigger Steamer’s Crew team. They continued to fight until the final whistle, with Nia Garden providing our lone goal. ⚽️

🧤 Hadley Michel spent the entire day in goal for Salem and came up with many great saves throughout both matches, helping keep the girls in both games.

We are incredibly proud of these girls for the heart, toughness, and determination they showed today. Playing two games in that kind of heat with limited substitutions and very little recovery time is no easy task, but they kept pushing and competing for each other until the final whistle.

Salem Select U14 went 1-1 today with a HOT double header! Salem won the 1st game 3-0 against a talented LFA West team. The team demonstrated exceptional field awareness and passing. A huge shoutout to the defensive line of Ellie Barnfield, Hadleigh Belfoire, Millie Baylie, Brilynn Glasco, and Charlie Foster. These girls and goalie, Lexi DeForest, helped the team to their 3rd shutout of the season! Offensively Brooklyn Anderson had a huge game with a goal and an assist. Laney Kuhns and Stevie Nix also had hard earned goals with assists by Brilynn Glasco and Addy Nix.
In game two, Salem fell to SCFC 1-2. Short on subs and fatigued, the girls fell down by one early in the game but battled to stay competitive. Piper Stanford had a solid performance in mid and Addy Nix added a goal late in the game. The coaches are proud of all the girls for never giving up and fighting through extreme heat and fatigue.

5/6 Girls hosted a talented O’Fallon squad at home this afternoon. Aubrey Branch, Matti Hurd, and Hailee Henderson had multiple shots on goal. Libby Gozia, Braelyn Wells, Adley Green, Annabelle Caudillo, and Naomi Draper fought hard against a fast offensive team. Abby Barnfield, Anne Hahs, and Caleigh Hays maintained their defensive line. Hurd, Gozia, Green, and Caudillo spent time in net.

Salem 3/4 Boys traveled to Highland this morning and showed out with a dominant performance. Scorers of the game were Roman Patten, Atlas Cantrell, Avery Owen, Bane Dulaney, C**t Conner, Zeke Allison, Kalan Heinzmann, Knox Allison, Liam Redenbo, and Truman Scott. The boys showed a group effort, and their talent is obvious as they continue to build cohesion among their group! Well done, boys!

1/2 Coed Red hosted Aviston for an early morning game. Scorers of the match for Salem were Cecil Rowe Jr. and Sawyer Howe. The game was physical and full of learning opportunities, with Salem continuing to improve across the board! Coach Kurtis is proud of the progress he’s seeing with this talented group!

Salem 1/2 White battled to a hard-fought 2–1 victory over a fast and aggressive Aviston team!

Salem did a great job moving the ball and passing with purpose, creating numerous scoring opportunities throughout the game. The team showed great teamwork and patience to find openings in the Aviston defense.

Defensively, Salem played a strong game, doing an excellent job limiting Aviston’s promising attacks and keeping pressure away from the goal.

It was a great team effort from start to finish! Way to battle, Salem! 💚⚽👏

1st/2nd White at Aviston for a 9am game
5th/6th Boys at O’Fallon for a 12:45pm game
7th/8th Coed at O’Fallon for a 2:30pm game

Concessions for home games will be open- Venmo and cash options are available!
