I write this with both sadness and excitement. We have decided to close down our location in Salem. We gave ourselves a certain amount of time to see growth, and unfortunately, we just didn't hit that bar. Saturday was our last day of trading, and we will no longer be open at our 4th Street location.

That being said, keep this page liked because there are future plans for Cash Gekko in the works, it may just take some time to get the ball rolling on what those plans are, but we will keep this page updated with any and all pertinent information.

I, Chris, want to thank everyone who has been a customer this past year. Thank you for coming to see me, thank you for trusting me to do the best that i could for you, and thank you for helping me grow. The things i've learned here this past year will change how we operate future locations, and i couldn't have done it without the customers i had!

Wanted to let you guys know, we’ll be closing at 5:30 instead of 6 today.

We're going to start posting some tips and tricks to maximize the amount of money you can get out of your used merchandise...whether selling to a shop, like us, or privately.

Today's tip is about the basics of selling. A couple things will apply no matter what you're selling, so we'll start simple.

First: Functionality...does your product function exactly as it is intended? Even a small hiccup in function could effect what someone is willing to pay you, whether it's a private sale, or to a shop, like us.

Second: Condition...now a little dust/dirt shouldn't effect what you can expect to get back out of your item, it IS used after all. But if there are major cosmetic issues, or it looks as if it's taken a dirt bath every day for a year, you could be in trouble when it comes to selling. Rule of thumb, if all it's going to take someone is a spritz of Windex and a couple of minutes, you're fine, don't stress.
