Friends of Blue Devil Wrestling

What a few weeks it's been for our Blue Devil Alumni at the college level! First We have Trinity Berry who took 2nd at the NCWWC (NCAA women's wrestling division) Regional 3! She is a senior at Tiffin University and is a national Qualifer for the NCAA Women's wrestling tournament. Next is 2x All American George Moseley who took 1st in his NCAA Division 3 Regionals and qualified for the 3rd time for the NCAA tournament. He pinnned his way to the finals and won 8-1 to claim first! Next we have AJ Marshall who took 1st at the NCWA Southeast Regional and took home Most Valuable Wrestler at the tournament! Last but not least, we have Sebastian Gabarrete who took home 2nd and took out a returning NCWA All American on his way to the finals! Congrats to Joe Lombay on a great season! Congratulations to all and we will be watching all the national tournaments here in the next few weeks to see how you all do!

Super proud of Jax Engh who took 6th today at States in Salem. Super proud of Jax, Ibrahim and Riley that competed this weekend, our crew that came to support them and all the Blue Devil fans that supported our guys this year. Now time to get our ladies ready this coming week for their state tournament!

After day 1 of the state tournament Jax makes it to a top 6 placing! Way to go Jax!! Ibrahim fought amazingly but loses in the blood round. Riley put up a great fight in consi round 3 but couldn't overcome his ankle injury. Great day with our young crew!

Congrats to our Blue Devils for wrestling and placing yesterday at regionals. What a great job by our guys and now we are getting ready for states! Also peep the last photo of coach Marshall celebrating his fake postseason birthday at our team dinner!

Blue devils had a great day at districts this past Friday. We placed all the kids in the tournament and finished with 3 finalists. Jax engh takes 1st at districts with a great finals match over Ev. Jack Lehman and Riley Vinyard wrestled hard but came up short. Riley had to exit his match due to injury. Taking 3rd was Eli Croushorn and Genowa Lane. Taking 4th was Aiden Rogers. 5th was Shane chamberlain and Cameron Mardeusz. 6th was Arturo Alvarez, Morgan Hendricks, nehamias Cardona and Saul Acevedo. Great job Blue Devils on a verrrryyy long night and early morning. Take today to celebrate this tournament and then we will get ready for regionals this Saturday!

Annual team photo and men’s and women’s placers at the 2024 Bill Brimer Brawl in the Hall! Can’t say enough about how proud we are of our team for bringing it this weekend!

A long weekend of wrestling in TN has yielded some amazing results. Coming in 4th place was jax Engh and Jason Young. Coming out as runner up was Riley Vinyard at 165 and Coming out as champion of 120 was Ibrahim Dasher with a 7-1 victory in the finals! In fact Ibrahim didn't give up a single takedown this entire tournament! Culpeper finished in 12th place out of 33 teams in the guys tournament.

For our girls teams, we took 3 to TN and placed Allison c in 3rd, Allison G and Maddie took 2nd in an amazing finals match were she had her opponent on her back twice in the match. Even with only taking 3 the girls took 4th out of 24 teams!

We had many great matches this weekend and some great memories made. Way to go Blue Devils!

We start day 2 with 10 guys still in the tournament and now with the ladies starting. Jax, Ibrahim, Riley and Jason are all alive in the championship side with Shane, Aiden, Eli, Arturo and cameron alive on the consi bracket. Maddison, Allison g and Allison C start their tournaments today. Good luck today devils!

The jv and women's team headed down to Richmond today and came back with some hardware! Saul took 1st today and Allison G took 3rd today. We had 4 make the semifinals and 7 made the consi semifinals. Great day for our team amd a solid way to finish the competition portion of 2023!
