Clips from Saturday’s Top Prospect Event

Former Wichita East and K-State standout Tobi Osunsanmi, now at the University of Indiana, enjoyed a breakout performance at a 2020 Sharp Performance event and recruiting interest picked up significantly after he ran a hand-timed 4.46 second 40-yard dash with a 35-inch vertical and 9-10 standing broad jump. He was 6-1 around 200 pounds at the time and a little overlooked because he was kind of a safety/linebacker 'tweener' in high school and a development project with incredible raw talent.

Not sure anyone could see that the Wildcats would develop him into a big-time defensive end. Now the 6-2, 250-pound edge rusher will play his senior season for the National Champion Indiana Hoosiers.

We are just two weeks away from the Sharp Performance Top Prospect Event, and it’s a great time to look back at athletes who had breakout moments at SP Events.

One of the best examples? Former Hays High standout Jaren Kanak.

Kanak emerged as one of the top performers at the 2020 SP Showcase, posting a 4.41 40-yard dash, 4.2 pro agility, 37.1-inch vertical jump, and 11 reps at 225 pounds. The 6-2, 210-pound athlete quickly became one of Kansas’ top college football prospects.

After signing with Oklahoma, Kanak transitioned to tight end for his senior season and enjoyed a great year for the Sooners in 2025. He was recently drafted and signed by the Tennessee Titans, continuing an impressive football journey.

“The showcase was very, very beneficial for me,” Kanak said. “It was a great way to get my name and numbers out there. I knew I was capable of playing football at the next level and the Sharp Showcase was exactly what I needed to grab the attention of recruiters with my testing numbers.”
