LIBERTY NAMES MARCUS McCOY DIRECTOR OF SCOUTING & PLAYER PERSONNEL

The Salina Liberty is pleased to announce the addition of Marcus McCoy as the organization’s new Director of Scouting & Player Personnel.

McCoy currently coaches defensive backs at Madera South High School in California and has experience evaluating and connecting players with professional football opportunities. His background as both a coach and former player gives him a strong understanding of the qualities needed to succeed at the professional level.

In his new role, McCoy will work alongside the Liberty coaching staff and football operations department to identify, evaluate and recruit prospective players while helping the organization expand its scouting network and build its roster.

The Salina Liberty are proud to announce a career-long commitment with Head Coach Heron O’Neal.

Since arriving in Salina in 2018, Coach O has built one of indoor football’s premier organizations, leading the Liberty to conference championships, a league championship, multiple championship game appearances, and establishing a culture of excellence on and off the field.

Coach O’s impact extends far beyond the wins. During his tenure with the Salina Liberty, players have earned opportunities to move up to the next level six different times, bringing his career total to 68 players who have advanced to higher levels of professional football during his 21-year coaching career.

This commitment is about more than football. It’s about a shared belief in our organization, our community, and Liberty Nation. Together, we’re committed to building championship teams, developing players, and making Salina proud for years to come.
